Finally got the production date of May 9th.

I put the deposit on Feb 10th. Now the waiting begins.

Anyone looking for a voodoo Sport MT, here is basically every one in allocation within the country. Scratched mine out to prevent the dealer getting bugged about an already sold unit.

Riley Toyota and Toyota of Des Moines say their units are spoken for (I called those two before landing mine.)

There is also one at Scott Clark Toyota in NC, but it is reserved by someone who "may cancel" the order.

The allocation can be “tweaked” on approval. Mine was originally silver snd I got the color changed to Barcelona Red Metallic. Then I was able to get the OEM tonneau added. However, It already had 6MT and Premium and Advanced Tech packages which luckily I wanted, because drivetrain and major packages cannot be changed.

So I’m currently planning on putting down a security deposit for a 2021 Pro. What’s generally the process here? Do you simply put a deposit, and when the truck arrives at the dealer, is that when you sign papers, negotiate and whatnot? Or do you negotiate on everything and sign papers when you place the deposit? I’m new at this and was looking for some input from you all. Thanks.

I can only spek for myself here in San Diego area. Call around, ask around for dealers that will do an allocation order. Many will not. Some will string you along hoping what you want comes in. I got sucked into 3 months of that with another dealer who was willing to honor Costco pricing but NOT willing to do an allocation order.

My salesperson is the fleet manager at a high volume dealer and I know a few people who have had success with him. His deal to me was straightup MSRP, no negotiating. Only disocount would be whatever incentives Toyota has at the time. I got the exact same speech from another local dealer who I know will do allocation orders.

Put down $500. Fully refundable if I back out.

My local Toyota dealer that I'm currently talking to is the only dealer in my area that sells the Pro Tacoma at MSRP, unless it's the Lunar Rock which I'm not particularly interested in. They ask that I put down a $1k deposit and a rough wait time of 3-4 months or maybe less according to the salesperson.

I would just check if the $1k is refundable or not in case they are flakey and 6 months from now you are still waiting. 3-4 months of wait time = normal these days.

    Hello everyone,

I ordered on March 19th 2021 and was told it might be end of July, I said fine, if I'm paying this much for a truck, I want it my way.

I'm in Ontario, Canada and ordered the 2021 Voodoo blue AT TRD OF premium.

I got a call last week with good news, they managed to change a color that they had one in the line (no clue what this means) and it looks like it might be here beginning of May! Now I don't know how accurate this is since he still doesn't know the VIN...

Any thoughts if this is accurate? The worst thing I could of did was join this forum, because this is all I read now, and it's like a carrot dangling in front of me but I can never get it :(

I believe you have gotten the truth. My truck was allocated to the dealer in silver, and they put in a color change to Barcelona Red Metallic. They had to wait and see if it "took," then they put in a change for an OEM tonneau and when it "took" I put down my deposit and took delivery 13 weeks later. I got the VIN# when it was built a few weeks later.

Ahhh this makes sense...they had to call Toyota Canada and see if they could make the changes...I thought they were just pulling my leg trying to find another dealership with my colour and stuff.

Well either way, I'm super excited and can't wait to get it.

I don't use it for work anymore, just for hunting and fishing and it fits better in the garage than the long bed. Also the turn radius is insane compared to my LB Frontier I had a few years ago, which made the easiest 3 point turns into an automatic 5 point turn. Haven't loaded the quad in the back yet but i'm sure with the tailgate down it wont be a problem.

They really are nice, after having them on my last truck I definitely wanted them again.

It's here...after 7-month wait, sitting at dealership...and they are taking their sweet ass time getting the dealer prep done. Was supposed to pick up today, but they said they are very busy and "will try." Not feeling the love. And on top of that, they can't (won't) do the TRD Leveling Lift due to corporate Toyota "Stop Sale" on new lift. Fawking dealerships.

Shit I forgot about this thread. Well boys, today I paid $1,000 at Bert Ogden Toyota in Harlingen, Texas to place an order for a 2021 Silver Sky Metallic TRD Sport 4x4 with Premium Package. Sales manager was out today but the salesman will contact me on Monday to review the options on the truck and submit my order. What’s the average wait? Guys there told me 3-4 months.

I pretty much only haul wood. The DCLB is fugly imo and the extra foot wouldn’t have helped me in this situation.

I hate to tell you this, but there is no such thing as “ordering.” They get the trucks allocated to them and can tweak the Allocation with things like color, but not drivetrain. An “order” is looking for one in the build process matching your specs and “hoping” to obtain it from another dealer if not in their allocation. Unless the truck is allocated to your dealer, you are wishing on a star. It would behoove you to get clarification from your salesman in that regard. TW is rife with stories of people who thought they “ordered” the truck they wanted only to find themselves SOL after months of waiting. You need to nab a dealer allocation. No such thing as an “order.”
