My double cab 2020 SR5 V6 didn't come with them. The OEM kit is around $60 and takes 20 minutes to install. If you have a double cab you should have the cargo light switch. Access cab may not have it. Hold on and I'll add a link to get the kit.

Here $51.75 plus shipping or free shipping if you buy $75 worth of items with code: FREESHIP

Maybe get a bed mat that is a nice add for a new Tacoma if you don't have one. $80.50 that will get you over $75

Agreed. It's like a flatbed cab-forward that has a searchlight on the back, that has been turned downward. Nothing at all like a Tacoma.

And another thing. I don't understand why you would want your bed lights to turn on automatically when the passenger doors are opened. If anything, it should be when the tailgate is opened.

I don't know why but that's how I have mine set. There a delay from closing the door and the lights going off. The other thing is there is no switch on the bed to activate the lights like the passenger doors.

Parallel tap a wire to the (nearest to tailgate) door open switch. Run a wire to the tailgate, place a door open switch.

Just might be annoying when driving with the tailgate down. Probably needs a timer then disable till reset. And then it just gets too complicated to bother with.

My plan is to use two Switch-Pros circuits for dome lights once my shell arrives. One for red and one for white. I already have dome as my aux trigger so I’ll have one of them fire on the dome then as needed with the phone or control panel. I’d probably be fine with just white really but I thought red would be fun. Probably stupid overkill.

I’m honestly tempted to ditch the whole cargo rocker entirely. It takes up room which could be used for at least two small switches. With a shell on, the cargo light is entirely blocked.

I added the OEM kit to my 21 TRD sport. It was super easy and the lights turn on with the cargo light.

A small piece of ducktape or a fancy switch depressor. Nothing complicated.

Still wondering if anyone has added the new OEM bed light to 2019 and below model year truck. Was hoping for there to be a template to cut and a pnp harness.

DSIM dropped the harness today. It’s rock light focused but I believe it’s off the cargo light and its marketed as plug and play. It’d get you very close.

There is an OEM option for 2019, just a surface mount instead of the flush mount. You need a part number?

Awesome to hear bout DSIM's harness.

As for the bed light, i know about the older style bed light, however I am interested with the newer one as it sits flat and has better output.

Is DSIM's harness PNP with the connectors off of the bed lights? Or will i need to buy two female connectors, if so what is the part number for those connectors?

    Gotchya.

If cost no object you could get both and splice in the flush mount lights. Then bum one of the plastic caps off someone who installed them for a template.

Personally I think the value is lost for 2016-2019. The location isn’t exactly ideal though it’s not bad. I’d pick strip lights under rail or something significantly brighter than OEM if forced to cut to fit. The ROI vs LOE argument is huge for 2020+ but much lower for 2019- primarily because LOE.

I really like my bedside molle panels and wouldn’t want to give them up. I also wouldn’t want to cut just to have an OEM product.
