    Does this add any extra weight to the tailgate? Mostly I just want to make sure that the soft open will still function... thanks.

    My guess is it shouldn't based on it being plastic as well. If there are differences, it would be small.

    One or two made in the panel where the gaps in the tailgate metal are probably fine. I would expect to get more flex if you have two side by side in that space. When standing on the panel it does flex slightly as there are voids in the tailgate so this may be amplified. Adding a small backer stiffener may help with this and for securing the cupholders.

    The panel weighs ~10lbs the factory panel that is removed is about the same weight +/- a pound or two. There is no difference in function of the soft open.

    Just an update on the group buy volume. As initial production, procurement, etc.. has already been locked in, the first round of early May shipments will be limited to the first 38 members of the group buy (2 more spots). I will be maintaining the initial terms of leaving the group buy open until May 5th 2021 with the 30+ member discount of 17%. Group buy members 39 and up will be included in a second wave of production. Lead time and production details to be updated after May 5th.
