High Beams Not Working, Kind Of

Prepping a 92' Toyota Pickup for sale. My high beams won't turn on and stay on when the switch/arm is pushed forward into the "on" position, but they will turn on when I pull the switch/arm (like I'm flashing my high beams). The fuse is good. Clearly not a bulb issue. And I think the relay is good if the high beams will flash? Is that accurate? Thinking it must be the switch itself, but decided I'd check for opinions before I buy a new one and go digging into the column.

 

Assuming that it does NOT have the "Auto High Beam", then you have a bad switch.

 

Sounds like the Contacts for the High Beam are worn or dirty.

You might be able to clean or repair them or replace the switch.

Does the rest of the Switch work like it should??

 

Yes, the low beams work fine. Turn signals work fine. And the high beams will flash when the switch is pulled in. No auto high beam setting.
