    awesome writeup like always chris. i bought the 6 pack of oems from ebay a few months bakc. filters came out to be like $3 each. and someone needs to take the sand out their snatch.

    ive read several articles stating that basicly Pure One (the gold filters) are the best you can get for your money. i usually spend a few min at the parts store and find the biggest filter that will fit my car or truck. The oil filter that is on my commuter car (geo metro)is more than twice the size of the oem filter

    i've been using the mobil1 filters on my truck and the wifes honda. havent had any problems with them per say.....but being $13 a pop.....i think im gonna switch now.

    i may not have noticed.....but how about a puralator pure one filter? they get good reviews on bitog.org.

    oh ok my bad. but wouldnt all the filters be the same per brand?
    the oem upgrade to a K&N oil filter (if i remember correctly) is part #1002, however (i believe) 2002 is almost twice as long offering almost twice the filteration surface area. It screws on, the gasket matches, and its got the AA stamped on the inside. now if toyota has a bigger filter that will fit i would really like to know about it.

    I have found some are manufactured differently depending on vehicle they are made for. And the sq. in. of media varies alot.

    what filter brands do you have left? advance auto? napa? Pep boys? wix? amzoil? royal purple?

    thanks Chris for the great work on the reviews. I have always heard that the Dealer Filters are way better..maybe not so much in price but overall quality of product yes. Just got my Taco and have not changed the oil yet but I will be using the toyo filters..Any recommended Oil suggestions out there?

    Alot of threads about oil. Best is to use your favorite oil, and change it between 4k and 5k miles
