Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
    Glad you're okay.

But like others have said, go to a doc and get checked out. Then you'll have some documentation in case something hurts later. Sucks, but that's the world we live in.

Another reason it's nice to lease. Give it back in three years and get a new one. Let someone else deal with any issues that arise from the repair.

I was hit by a drunk driver last year, actually a couple weeks away from exactly a year.

Glad your OK for the most part!

First and foremost, damage to the truck is not your responsibility.

See a doctor, if within a few days your still having pain GET A LAWYER. I can't stress that enough. At the very least HAVE A CONSULTATION WITH ONE. Insurance companies will do everything in their power to pay as absolutely little as possible, even your own.

I stress that because my pain didn't seem serious until many days later when I couldn't hardly move or sleep. I have 3 screwed disc's in my back now, one of which I spend days feeling like someone is digging a knife in my ribs. Don't blow anything off, get it checked out and be ready with a lawyer. But don't use one that blows up TV commercials. They want a fast settlement to make money, not get you taken care of and in the end get maximum payouts.

Being a lease, it'll get fixed. Insurance and dealership will have to has that mess out, nothing on you. A lawyer can guide you on that too. I'm not versed in all that part.

My accident is in the end, what got me my 2021 paid for free and clear.

When I read the thread title I was expecting to see a mangle hunk of "used to be a Tacoma" that had to be dragged onto a flatbed. Definitely not as advertised. Glad you weren't in nearly as bad of wreck as I was expecting to see OP.

Don't go off half cocked and h3ll bent.

The other driver's insurance should handle the repairs. You have done all you need to do at this point. Contacting your insurance agent. Otherwise, I'd suggest getting copies of the police report and document any pictures/video of the accident scene.

Thank you so much for reaching out and showing concern. I really appreciate the advice from you, I am definitely going to call a doctor to get checked and I’ll document everything. Have to make sure I follow the correct protocol.

This right here is something that I have to pay attention to and make clear to the person taking care of my claim.

Question: Since it's a lease, wouldn't the leasing company get the compensation for diminished value, meaning his payoff at he end of the lease would be lower? He won't receive a dime.

I have questions about this myself. I will find it all out when I reach the finance company.

I'm no expert, but why would he receive any money on value of something he doesn't own?

Your insurance won’t go up but I would call the leasing company and see what penalty you’ll get at the end of the lease for a repaired vehicle. Negotiate that cost with the insurance companies. Also call the local Ferrari or Bentley dealership and ask where they get body work done. That’s where you take your truck.

Had this happen to my wife's new car where other party hit the left front corner. Their insurance fixed the car at a lexus dealer but when I demanded oem parts, they showed me a washington state law that said they could replace with "like" parts.

Went to attorney general and talked with a few attorney friends ... basically, insurance companies win and they are just obligated to restore the vehicle to original condition using whatever parts are deemed equivalent to OEM.

Diminished value is an option but just another time burner to make it cumbersome to get more money from the damage.

Insurance lobby has made the consumer powerless

There are a lot of really nice branded vehicles out there that serve people well and have more value per dollar spent than a new undamaged vehicle.

I didn't read through all the pages, but my goodness I am here shaking my head that someone who leased a vehicle would be such whiner. It is an accident, it happens, they fix it, and you move on. You lost nothing since you get to turn it back in. Nothing wrong with a repaired vehicle. They use new parts and put it back together. Anything bent or broken is replaced. It isn't like the truck was originally created through immaculate conception. If you ever met some of the dopes that work assembly line factory production, you would be happy to have a skilled technician putting your truck back together.
