Yeah, we had to drive pretty far back into BLM to find a spot since the bank and sand gulch were full. And then the first few miles of of dispersed were a mess of people driving wherever making new sites with half dozen vehicles... I have a feeling it’s going to get tightened down on dispersed here.

hey yall got a question ive been trying to figure out and have had no luck with in my search. im having shifting issues. cant go right into 1st from a stop, and shifting into other gears gets a little easier but still doesnt seem right. ive replaced the shifter seat and socket. ive checked the clutch pedal adjustment. that looked good. the slave cylinder seems to be moving at the right time when i press the clutch pedal. i have the marlin crawling 1200lbs clutch in it for a while now. just not sure what to loook at next. ive drained the trans and looked at the fluid but dont see and metal or brass debris. im using mobile 1 75-90 gear oil. any input or info on other posts will be appreciated.

I mostly ruled out lipo due to cost, and I don't think they're great in the cold and I do a lot of winter camping. Two 6v batts in series will run the 12v system, with a higher AH and more cycles than a single 12v batt, from the research I've done so far.

Sounds like your shift fork is bent or worn.

Or the 1st gear syncro's are toast.

    This and that...
Yeah its a big up front cost which is the main disadvantage. But they preform better than lead acid even in the cold. You would need double the AH to get the same discharge as a lithium and if working with 6V double it again to get to 12V. Not an expert here though. That weight adds up quick. You have about 200-300 cycles for a sealed lead acid compared to 4000-8000 cycles for a LifePO4. With the size we have, the minimal loss wont really affect our winter camping. In my system I can easily shut off the solar but the cold charging safeties should automatically kick in anyways. I believe the lead acid can charge in colder temps though.

This is from the RELiON website. https://relionbattery.com/resource-center/videos

"With standard lead-acid batteries the cold can seriously degrade the health and longevity of the unit.Temperatures below the 32°F mark will reduce both efficiency and usable capacity of lead-acid noticeably, providing 70-80% of its rated capacity at 32°F whereas lithium batteries can operate with very little loss providing 95-98% of its capacity at 32°F.Even at 14°F lithium batteries will provide 80% of its rated capacity."

"Typically, the more you pull from a lead-acid battery in cold temperatures the weaker it will become. Lithium batteries will begin to warm when you use them. This will lower the battery's resistance and increase its voltage, allowing you to run your equipment."

You’re going to have to source your happiness from elsewhere. It was good times all around and no flat tires on my truck.

I'm disappointed, but I know that the universe works in mysterious ways. Can't wait to see my tire on your truck one of these days.

I guess i should start from the begining.

I got there around 1pm, @johntoyota was already hammered. And @literallynothing truck was already beat and broken.
I got the truck off the trailer and broke imediately, my wheel bearing bolts backed out and snapped and broke my rotor. @WarFab Armor gave me his rotor off his truck and we fixed noahs front locker. Then went out to do scratch and dent, i broke my first cv of the weekend here. Then we went to calamity and i broke a tube in half on my front bumper. Got it welded back up at camp.

Day 2 we ran die trying, it started off great with noah forgetting he had a front locker and putting his driver fender into a wall. This trail kicked my ass, usually i didnt know what was in front of my or i was stuck on my rear diff. But the hydro steering made it so much easier to drive. Eventually i took a really bad line and turned our 2 piece drive shaft into 3 pieces. Again @WarFab Armor saved my ass and was able to give me his off his truck. Later on in the trail noah wanted to do more body work to his truck and smashed his bedside. Shortly after i got mine again too.

Day 3 was 21 Road in grand junction. The trail started off slow but we soon split up into groups and were moving at a good pace. Noah did some big lines and i followed. Then i discovered im a fatass and tried to squeeze by a rock and remodeled my rear door and bedside. Soon after that i took a really bad line where i was on trans crossmember with a rock behind my diff and a broken front ADD tube and both front axles broken. We removed the diff and axles, i only had 1 outer cv and decided to send it without the other, was hoping it would last to the trailer. Got a qaurter mile down the trail and my wheel fell off. @johntoyota gave me his spare hub and we cut an old axle up and limped it back to camp with 3 brakes. Pretty sketchy drive back when your hauling ass with 3 brakes.
