I got mine in time. I got mine just under a month ago and I got it a little under invoice for a Pro. Now the dealers around me can’t keep any Tacoma in stock.

I traded in a 2016 Silverado in January for a TRD OR and they gave me KBB trade in value for it. The truck had 57000 miles on it and was in pristine condition. They sold it in less than a week. I just looked up the value of that truck with the same miles on KBB and they show it has gone up 2700 dollars in value since I traded it in. That is just friggin crazy!

I haven't noticed any difference between models having problems.

Southeast Toyota does the same thing. In fact, my local dealer can’t keep a TRDOR or TRDS in stock but he can’t give away the dressed up SR5’s that are $39000 to save his life. People are buying right now but they aren’t stupid.

Or they need a new vehicle, used prices are insanely high so they figure they might as well pay a bit more and get new verse used.

The last couple of times I've bought a new pickup I looked at used first, but after pricing a clean used pickup I went ahead and bought new. This last time worked in my favor and the prices are continuing to climb on the used vehicles.

I can’t believe how much they are climbing. My dad paid $32,000 for his 2018 Tacoma TRD OR and he can sell it now and make a profit. It’s nuts.

Looks like you got the super special Mexico start of production manual Pro's with offroad stickers like me.

Mexico has since stopped putting the super special Pro stickers.

Lol it's the consumers that buy upper end products that are the issue, not the products themselves.
Guys who buy SR's and SR5's are happy to have a new vehicle.
Guys who buy the high trim Pros and OR's usually come from something else high end and bitch about everything... because somehow they think that more money thrown means higher quality.
Newsflash to those of you in this demographic... the quality of every Toyota is the same, meaning the SR access cab 2wd has the same quality of a TRD Pro loaded. The difference is the extra thousand parts required to make them different. That's all.

How do I know this? A friend of mine has had a lot of Farraris... many of them new. He also buys Range Rovers for his wife. I shake my head when he tells me how many times they are in the shop for the first several months but he is OK with it. He says I just spent $250K on it and I only had it in the shop twice last month lol. He is OK with that because those fuckers are like buying the most high strung ADHD race horse you can get. When they are right, they are amazing he says.

So, different expectations for different price points.

Well, why is it most of the complaints read here are with the trd's and above. Not much to read on the sr's or sr5's

What sr5 costs $39k? Even with all goodies that came in my 2020 sr5 the msrp was still close to $1,500 less.

Well more TRD's are sold so that may be part of it., and it's all in how you read things too.

Well i do read in english. I just came from an errand this morning....saw 5 white access cab sr5's v6's very similar in exterior ways to mine. They all belong to some out of state company doing some sort of highway infrastructure work in the area, even a local water company still has several gen3 sr5 tacoma's. I see quite a few new gen3 sr's and sr5's here, and probably just as many trd's. Didn't see any thing else except 1 limited. We don't have much for off-road use here in connecticut, so i'm guessing the dealers don't lean that way when stocking them. Years ago dealers sold lots of trd's, the older ones are everywhere on our roads.

None, brand new. Looking for ideas
Exactly why I choose the SR5. The markup for any TRD is insane compared to what you get. I’ve added lockers, gears, lift, wheels and tires and I’m still cheaper then the TRD OR and more capable. And the monthly payment is considerably lower.
