My wife had major surgeries in '79. Turns out it was something they left inside her. She'll know more tomorrow when they give her the run down, still a little groggy.

Sucks about the surgeries, but you got to be there for both of them. When does that ever happen?

I wish them both a swift recovery.

yep...hamburger shins...I got mine almost all from BMX...

still get some from MTB now as well, but more from running through briars, or actually hitting rocks or branches on turns

back in the 70's it was a sign of heroism to have messed up legs..."Blood and Mud" was what we used to say

BMX for me too and trials.

That's the worst when you get caught by a random branch and you just immediately find yourself on the ground. Looks like it's about time I tune the MTB and get out to some trails. Will be sticking to single track.

yeah..even a mid to small sized knob hidden in brush can just rip you right off your bike....honestly, some of my worst accidents have been in this way...

get out there for sure!!! I ride single track 95% of the time; some gravel grinding and BMX is at the skate park, but I am not doing any X games crap...just getting medium air out of bowls and trying to work on fakies and 180's right now

BMX is so fun. I remember getting a free coaster and spending an entire summer learning to ride backwards and eventually do 180s and halfcabs.

Never into bmx but was a pretty good skateboarder, could ride pipes and knew a few tricks. Two of my friends actually had a bmx mountain dew sponsorship. They rode hutch trick stars

Nobody wore helmets or pads back then. Most I wore were the fingerless gloves. Picking rocks out of your palms was no fun.

Same here. Early 90s for me. Kids today would not be able to handle how we grew then.

I snowboarded too in the winter.

Never snowboarded but when it would snow around here we would pull the trucks off our boards and do that. We were poor kids...

I still get this big kick in my gut when I listen to this.
The 1st song I ever did where I played every instrument. Recorded, produced, mixed.
My tiny studio is somewhere where I can walk in, flip a couple switches and i'm off and running.

I love doing things by myself because all errors belong to me.
