Where did you get the Yokohama's? I've been searching in vein for these in 255/85R16? Nice looking truck!

Thanks man. I had an order through a local shop but everyone I talked to said they were on national backorder with an ETA sometime around the end of May. I got these from Simple Tire and they got to my doorstep in 3 days. I called them up and they had them available, so I canceled my other order and got them for the same price. Liking them a lot so far!

Oh man. Sorry to hear that! I was shocked when they said they had them in stock, so was skeptical until they arrived. Did you call them back on that?

After I got the cancellation msg from ST I got messages from UPS last night saying the were being delivered today, then another round of UPS msgs this am saying delivery unknown. Called Simple Tire to find out what was going on and confirmed order cancelled for insufficient stock & refund issued. Pissed because I called before I placed my order to confirm they had them.

I really wanted to try the Yoko's, ended up purchasing Toyo MT's instead from another source.

    Nope the MT.
I'll post a pic of current setup, BFG KM3 285/75R16's on Gen 3 Taco spare steelies w/Spidertrax 1.25" spacers and new setup Toyo MT 255/85R16's on Method 701 Trail Series wheels, no spacers.

I know the Toyo's are stiff but with my heavy rig (Alu-Cab Canopy camper build out, winch, armor, etc.) I don't think I'll have an issue getting them to flex when aired down.

Dang man! Like I said, I was skeptical until they arrived and I even checked all of the tires to make sure they were the same, lol. I guess you can say I had no issues, but that sucks you couldn't get what you asked for. Toyo MTs were what I was looking at in that same size if the Yokohamas weren't available.

Latest...get this? Another round of emails from UPS last night stating the ST Yoko's have shipped and will be delivered Monday! ST website still shoes my order as cancelled. What a cluster F*&K. Toyo's scheduled for delivery Tuesday.

Well I guess "IF" both show up I can compare and send one set back :)

    Great thread very long.

Thinking ahead for when I need to replace my general grabbers at2 265/65/16 and the 235/85/16 cooper discoverer st or dick cepek extreme countrys are what I'm thinking. Looking at gaining all the benefits of a skinny tire listed in the OP. More efficient and better in the snow are what I'm hoping to achieve.

Found this thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheels-make-a-difference-in-performance.717083/ and got me curious about shedding some lbs. Figured out I could lose 14.6lbs in just changing the tires now curious about how much I can lose changing rims as well.

Edit: If I can find and afford the extreme countrys and a set of 16x8 fn rims I could drop a total of 78.8 lbs in unsprung weight.

I was debating between the discoverer maxx and the extreme country. Went with the EC and saved 10lbs per corner

few shots of my new pizza cutters....unsure if i like the look, but the performance so far (hour or two mudding) makes me content with the purchase.

Okay tire snafu figured out :) Simple tire did cancel my original Yokahama MT order. I had ordered the Toyo MT's from Amazon, turns out they actually came from Simple tire!

Wheels and tires delivered today waiting on lug nuts to arrive. Pics after swap!
