Dex 6 does have a lower viscousity but it actually helps with colder temp steering since it will flow better. It also has a better base stock so it's more shear stable. Since GM specs it backwards for Dex 3 there shouldn't be any issues with seals.

I've been using it and I'm happy with it, with no issues in the past 30k miles. Running over sized tires the factory fluid had a burn smell to it at 15k.

I used it because I had 12 qt of it on hand. Top choice goes to Mobil 1 ATF and Valvoline maxlife atf

Good idea but i wonder if it really has any benefit and if there are any bad effects in return

Only good. I would however make it a maintenance item to inspect and change. If you missed the technical reasons for doing so click on the link in my post above ^^^

I got the Napa filter today but it doesn’t say Magnafine on it like the pics on the website.

Toyota charges $70 CAD (so like $12 USD) For a PS flush. I cannot be bothered to get under my truck for that price.

You are going to have to read the product specs and details. NAPA does not make filters but reboxes them. Many of the filters are actually made by Filtran and I have found a number of the magnetic magnefine-type filters rebaged by others. Get this, my latest one is a Purolator P1320. Purolator actually makes filters but the ones in the box have the Filtran logo on them.

So why not share one for the team. Run it for awhile and then cut it open and see what you find...

Why do you need a hose for a PS flush?

Is there anything wrong with doing the turkey baster/refill like once every oil change?

Need 3/8”ID hose for the outlet that you want to block off so the reservoir doesn’t drain out. I used a piece of that with a 9mm shell casing shoved inside, worked great.

Wrong? Not really. I liked the idea of the pump flushing out debris.

I did this today , worked great . So easy

You don’t have to drain it from the rack being “lower” in the system ?
