Had snowmobiles since 1968 under covers during the summer tried moth balls also, various cars and the rodents did not care. Dryer sheets have worked for 30 years ?

I'm tempted to try one of these, but I wonder if the high frequency noises are disturbing to dogs? That is; would it bother our dogs inside the house at night?

I think those sonic devices are borderline snake oil. We have a cabin up in the mountains that came with a few resident field mice and those things did not do squat to keep them away. However, a good old fashioned mouse trap and some peanut butter did the trick!

High frequency sounds don’t go through closed windows and things like that well, so I think It will be OK.

Much as I wish I could shoot the furry little fucks we live in a townhouse in a neighborhood. That being said, if I told you I never thought about rigging up a solvent trap on a pellet gun I'd be a filthy liar....

I've tried them all. Well, not all of them, but I sure ran the gamut with all manner of ultrasonic pest deterrents. When I tried them with ground moles, I found the mole to actually be attracted to the noise, circling the devices on the first night of the install.

I tried several of the Victor Ultrasonic products for mice in the garage with absolutely no effect at all.
For mice in the engine bay, I figured surely @ $90 dollars, the MouseBlocker Pro, complete with strobe lights and hard wired under the hood would do the trick. Not a fucking chance, they nested less than a foot from it the first week.

I haven't had a squirrel problem, but caveat emptor with the ultrasonic stuff.

I simply peanut butter snap trap them now.

Truck came home yesterday. For the curious the final tab was $6174.69. That includes replacing the entire engine room harness, new passenger headlight, fog light harness, repairing MAF and cam actuator wires, MWR harness, and washer fluid line.

Yeah we have lots around our farm...cats take of the ones at the barn....around the home we use traps too....though when we release them they will no longer cause trouble...we kill them.

Damn! That's exactly why my truck is in the garage now. Figure I got off easy with two $300 repairs. Couple weeks ago they were in my truck for a third time so the garage got cleaned out and in the truck went.

When we moved into our house three years ago we found the previous owner had about 20 ultrasonic devices plugged in around the house in every room. She even had a few brand new ones in boxes on a shelf, I guess as replacements. Made us nervous that there was a rodent infestation. Turns out she was just imagining things because we haven't seen any rodents, or insects in the three years we have been here--even though I took out all of them--they made a clicking noise every once in a while to prove that they were working and it was irritating as ****.

I researched whether they worked or not and determined they were snake oil. Saw pictures of insects and rodents sitting/nesting right next to them.

We do have problems with rabbits eating insulation in cars around here though. I parked an old Ford Fusion that I was donating in the driveway for about 3 days. Rabbits came in and got the wiring. Didn't bother me since I was donating it but sure makes me keep my vehicles in the garage. The only thing that helps keep the rabbit population down around here is the coyotes and the odd bobcat or two that roam the neighborhood and get them at night. I see the furry remains and the intestines when I walk the dogs in the morning.
