I'm super close to hiking, not for from wheeling (1 hour to the good trails, more for the better ones).

My problem is that everyone else in southern CA is equally as close to these places and ruins it for me, fuckin aholes

Ohh yeah I dunno if you can ask them to order something they don't normally stock. I don't think so

Yeah they only have like 3 AT tires in 255/85r16 which sucks.

I hear JPL has some pretty sweet wheeling spots out back.

My friend with the ill fated FJ hit me up yesterday actually about going wheeling soon, I'm very curious to see what he's done with that thing (or if he got rid of it).

I had a dream last night that I dropped my truck off for the AC issue and got stuck paying a $4k bill when it was done, so I'm a little nervous waiting for their call this AM about it lol

had to duck out as soon as I dropped it off before they took it into the bay, I hate listening to the sound of someone revving it up while riding the clutch which almost always happens.

Yeah my clutch job from the dealer 5 years ago was even a little less than that so I'm definitely not worried about a bill that high. Plus if they quoted me on that I'd tell them I'll just sweat all summer, no thanks.

Really I think it just needs a good recharge but there is probably a leak somewhere that needs taken care of

don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great concert venues, breweries, restaurants, and trails nearby.

But expect them to be crowded

It's hacky but I just used a can of refill bullshit with some sealer in it, the AC system isn't gonna be bothered by it

That's what I did last summer and it worked for a little bit, but now it's worse than ever haha. Won't even come on at all so it's probably leaked out. A few months ago I could swear I smelled the stuff too in the cab.

Evaporator or the expansion valve shat the bed then if you smelled it. Not uncommon, fixable yourself though, have done it a few times

yeah I did the dryer, one of the lines, and the expansion valve myself in an afternoon.

Borrowed the vacuum tool from the parts store to make sure it had no leaks and then paid the shop up the street like $100 to double check and refill.

Honestly after 5 years of crappy AC, I'll just be happy to have it working like new (hopefully) after this

The tacoma has a way oversized AC system, when it works its some of the coldest air I've ever felt in a vehicle

That's good to know, because mine has always been OK when moving but sitting at a stoplight it would basically blow warm unless it was under 90 outside. Which pretty much made it useless in summer down here unless I was on the highway.

Reminds me of my next issue I need to tackle, why my seat belt gets wet when it rains. Probably the stupid roof rack mounts I need to pull off and plug.

We probably won't see rain again until next November so I should have some time.
