What keyboard software are you using?

Swiftkeys & Samsung keyboard has the option to enlarge the keyboard.

I was a long time user of Swiftkeys, but swapped to stock Samsung keyboard since its been integrated better for my Note phone.

Swipe text is the best and worst thing ever, but it works much better than trying to type key by key on a phone keyboard. If you haven't tried using swipe text, I would give it a go. It's usually pretty good at predicting the words you're typing out, though it's not always perfect (hence why its sometimes the worst)

But I can't imagine how frustrating it would be trying to type out sentences key for key on any smart phone.

Turn your phone landscape, it expands the keyboard making the keys slightly bigger.

    I use swiftkey and swipe.
