4x4 or Prerunner? Front lift looks awful high for a 4wd, would be curious to know what your cv angles look like at that height (if you have them)

Yes, it's a 2000 SR5 Limited Pickup 4x4 with rear lockers. And yes the cv angle drops very low to the tire. I have already replaced the boot once but I have noticed that the new one is already getting quite worn. What is the fix for that?

Lower the front end lol. That's the best way IMO because high angles also compromise the integrity of the axles themselves (not just the boots). I went through so many blown boots before I lowered the front to 2" and they stopped.

There are also high angle boots you can try, and even high angle CV axles that O'reilleys sells now. Or the boot slide mod

Then how do some guys have 6' lifts? Like wouldn't the cv angle be insane?

Also here are some pics for reference.

6" lifts are done with drop bracket kits. Drop brackets keep the 4wd drivetrain in the stock position but lift the rest, so you don't really gain any clearance at all for the 4wd stuff.

Holy fucking shit (is what your cv axle boots are saying).

    Get rid of some lift.

Yeah, gonna have to get new springs for those shocks to bring it down. Something OME 881s or 882s would be good.

Just pulling the spacer off the top of the shock will help

true, I didn't notice the spacers. Those are what, 1/2" spacers? So they would be giving you 1" of lift...I would pull those off first and see where it sits.

Does a tree make a sound when it falls?

You may not hear it, but those cv axle boots are screaming bloody murder.

Remember that moment you accidentally stepped on your 8 week old puppy's toe and it sounded like someone was strangling the poor thing for a split second?

That times 10 to the 12th power.
