Guess it’s the nature of the beast; if you’re not spending money on a TRD we’re gonna charge you extra for what used to be standard on a pickup. o_O

Installed my fancy new light bar switch!
The one on the right is just filler because I lost the blank! It is way to far over and I can never find the damn thing when I want to hit it!
I also moved around the stock buttons. Had to do some customization on those since they are keyed into the stock spots.
    IMG_20210427_172019.jpg

While popping in my new switch, I noticed this cable all ready to go stuffed into a storage spot. What is that for?

I love the big rocker switches. I'm not a fan of the spod or switchpro gangs at all. I know practically nothing about wiring; how hard is it to install something like a blue sea fuse block and gang of switches hookup like in the photo? 71xRKwAdN1L._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Probably the bed light switch (which it looks like you don't have). Do you have an access cab?

Got off work, grabbed a Dos Equis, and installed my LED bed lights. Grabbed another Dos Equis and marveled at my mastery over a plug and play add-on. Thanks @rgljr831 for the How-to with big pictures.

Yeah I have the SX Access Cab. Funny, I was just asking about cargo lights in this thread.

There ya go! Yeah, the doublecabs have a On/Off/On switch for the "bed light" in the 3rd brake light.

Likely the wiring harness for the rear bed light or the inverter switch. Your model seems to be missing those switches so it is likely for a factory option that was not installed.

I have the same cover. I’m not sure what makes you think it’s not a good one but mine has been on my truck for three years and still looks and works as new. I hope yours lasts as long also.

A $200 folder isn't really up on the quality spectrum. If they last 3+ years and still look good then hell yeah! That is more than I was expecting.
You have the Tyger brand one? If so, then I am glad that inexpensive did not mean cheap in this case.

lmao apparently toyota thinks you can see in just fine in the dark. for what it's worth, the light is pretty meh. I'm removing my cab switch anyway.

I am going to put some LED strips in there eventually. Not that I need to see into my bed very often, but now that I have the cover on it, those would be helpful.
