Check out HowerBuilt on Instagram. They removed the rear window on their Tacoma and put an accordion boot to their custom camper like how you want.

Looks exactly like what it looked like on my gen 3. The gap looks good in my opinion and like you said, a ton of opportunities for slide out things like tables, max traxx etc or a Prinsu rack.

thanks, that’s not my truck though. It’s whoever Spencer got to drop by so he could test for with it. I don’t think it’s even a customer.

depends on how much room you have. The bed/SP flexes a bunch. You prob will want at least an inch. I had my panel mounted in front on the rack at the moment but was pointed out that on their Vagabond they had to move it forward with a new martin rack. normal driving was fine but off road it was coming into contract with the rack. I checked today and def slightly touching the solar plane. Off road it would prob do a number. I will be pulling it and trimming the track further.

Thats just the whiteboard your seeing, no trim piece that I'm aware of. Here's a shot of the camper on my Gen3:

Gotcha, I think you are the first Tundra, correct? Do you have an expected date it will be ready? I just sent my invoice to Cindy a few minutes ago. I certainly hope it's 6-8 from today, all of a sudden it seems awful close!

I’m going to assume I’m tundra #3. Cindy said that once they get the sheet metal in the clock will start ticketing with the 6-8 week projection. I actually emailed her to ask about the status on the sheet metal yesterday. I’ll keep ya’ll posted .

Put in my order last week for the X1 for my 2nd Gen DCLB! Super stoked on this and now trying to figure out a build. I've gone through the VO thread and now get to go through this one.

Alright, so it sounds like sheet metal is not in so the clock hasn’t started. She also mentioned that there are less time and shortages that may push it out more. I guess we patiently sit and wait

So Roy, have you paid your major deposit and locked in colors, accessories etc? Or has Cindy advised when the sheet metal is in that's when she will reach out for the deposit and selections?

Material prices are outrageous right now.
Bought some tubing to build my rear swing out , was twice the cost of steel a couple years ago. $350 of tube just for the carrier portion of my swing out.

For Tax reasons, I paid in full last year. She did ask about all the color and all that i think last month maybe? I think we’re all on the same boat

What's up guys! Just put down my $500 today. I'm planning on a green X1 to go with my sandy Taco :D December feels like a long ways off! So far, my truck is pretty stock. I'm just running some running boards, a soft topper, and a bedrug for camping. I was considering the other brands but the quality of the X1 (and no sales tax) really sold it for me. Stoked to be here!

Awesome! I did the same a few weeks ago, actually put a DP on GFC that I now need to sell... Watch a video by #sceniccityoverland and had a good chat with him about the pros n cons of GFC v X1. Pulled the trigger on the X1 since it's a very good build. Now it's the rabbit hole of interior build out. Lightweight but functional.

Indeed my friend! Coffee should arrive tomorrow, let me know how it goes. For me, it was the best I've roasted in 3 or 4 years to the point I'm buying a bunch more tomorrow when the warehouse gets it.

That's a cool video. I hope they decide on window options for the side doors in the future.
