We each drove 2 hours to meet. Thanks for getting me ready for Moab. 35s and relocate when I’m back so we can meet back up for a touch up. I’ll see how 4lo does and we can get more feedback after next trip too.

Right on bud! Really want to know the honest feedback of how that throttle sensitivity is in 4lo from a MT guy - and you'll see plenty of 4lo in Moab!

Unfortunately I think an active member of the Dallas Tacoma Facebook page offers OVTunes and no one on that page seems interested in the event
I'm a stranger from another city peddling another tune on their turf!

If they only knew the magic of the KDMax...

Any reason why I should install my Icon leaf packs prior to the tune?

 

It is up to you. It won't make a difference with the tune.

Nope. Nothing available.

 

Anyone with an OVTune - come to the DFW event and get tuned with the KDMax. Take the truck for a 10-15 minute drive.

If you don't like the KDMax, we will tune you back to your OVTune and you haven't lost anything but about 20-30 minutes!

Read the reviews and see for yourself when it comes to the general consensus when it comes to OVTune vs KDMax. It's night and day.

I personally was on OVTune from late 2017 (v1.04 - 2.0 beta 19800) until January of 2021. Did it help? Yes, but not anything to really write home about as it seemed to kind of 'wear off' after 500-700 miles each time I tuned.

Then I got one of the first Kruiser tunes (the KDMax precursor) from @PapaRee and my truck and I entered a second honeymoon.
After 8-9 changes and tweaks over 2-ish months, it ended up at the KDMax. Still loving my truck due to the KDMax tune after 3000+ miles.

You couldn't pay me to go back to an OVTune. Well, you could but it would be an amount you wouldn't want to pay just to prove me wrong

I live in the Dallas area but since I'll be out of town on 5/8, I decided to meet with @Phich today to get the tune. Living almost 5 hours away from your tuner would normally make things difficult to meet up but he graciously met me in the middle. There's an OVTune tuner down the street from me but I still drove 5 hours round trip for this tune because I felt it's more updated than OVTune and people who had OVTune in the past say KDMax is definitely an improvement.

I'm going to wait until I put around 500-1000 miles for the tune to adapt before giving my full review but my initial impression on my 150 mile ride back home was phenomenal. The truck wasn't having any issues figuring out which gear it should be in when trying to accelerate or going up hill. Throttle response is so much better and it removed that sluggish feel as well.

@Phich, thanks again for the tune and I look forward to seeing how much better it gets as I put more miles.

 

Good to meet you and tune your Tacoma! I love that people really feel the tune not even minutes after driving it post-tune. Sounds like you had that experience! Now if the wife and beagles like the smooth ride, your Tacoma will be the official 5th family member
