I am very pro-police, but I take each encounter with a cop on a case-by-case basis. These days, I don’t feel like I can trust anyone I don’t know, so that’s why I have a dashcam...

Five Guys in Warminster is another one; No matter how early or how late I show up, it’s always a different employee with the same excuse...

    “Just waitin’ on the fries...”

    Every time!

Well, this time I’m gonna complain about it in my post-delivery review!

One thing that pisses me off is the large number of restaurants (generally chains/franchises) that still don't let customers inside at all; I would say that at this point, well over a year after the pandemic started, most of the restaurants I pick up orders at only require you to wear a mask in order to come inside. Even the ones that don't allow customers to eat at the restaurant allow customers and DoorDash drivers alike to use the bathroom. Family-owned Asian restaurants allow you to go inside to pick up the foods, but most of the smaller ones do not allow public use of the restrooms; There's one place on County Line Road in Horsham that has a sign on the bathroom door that says "OUT OF SERVICE". I can understand why they don't want everybody using the bathroom, but just be fucking honest about it and put a sign on the door that says "EMPLOYEES ONLY"!

There's a Chinese place in a shopping center on 202 in Chalfont, and last night was the first time I'd ever gotten a request to pick up a DoorDash order there (I didn't know this was place was there, to be honest); I pulled into a parking space directly in front of the main entrance, and there was a sign on the front door saying not to come in, and to call a number that was listed directly below. DoorDash is all about speed and efficiency; I'm at my best when I run into the restaurant, grab the food, and leave.

I immediately declined the order and backed out the parking space; Drive-thrus are not a big deal as long as the line isn't long, and Outback Steakhouse (which also operates the "Tender Shack" ghost kitchens out of their restaurants) has the curbside pickup thing perfected, but calling in itself is time consuming and then I've gotta wait for an employee to bring the food out to me!

Sounds so confusing dealing with so many restaurants that are all operating differently.

There's a Wendy's on Route 611 in Warrington, directly next to the Home Depot; This place allows customers (and delivery drivers) to come in to pick up the food if they so wish, and the restrooms are actually open!

Just a few miles south and also on 611, there's another Wendy's in Horsham that is drive-thru only; This is not a particularly big deal if things are slow, but if a bunch of people suddenly get a craving for Wendy's and go to that particular location, then the places get overworked. This particular Wendy's is also located on a busy corner, and making turns out of the parking lot of that Wendy's is a pain in the ass due to traffic; As such, I don't go to that one anymore.

There is only one Chick-Fil-A that allows the public inside and lets people use the restrooms, and it is also on 611, just a mile or so from the one Wendy's that I go to for DoorDash; The Chick-Fil-A in Cheltenham is a total shitshow, and the one in North Wales near the Montgomery Mall is not as bad, but it still gets incredibly crowded. The one near the mall at least allows customers and DoorDash/Uber Eats drivers to enter the main entry vestibule to grab their orders, but the restaurant itself is not open to the public, and by default neither are the restrooms. If the traffic getting into the North Wales Chick-Fil-A is really bad, I will decline the order when I get there and wait for another one...

There is a yet another Chick-Fil-A in Montgomery County next to a Wawa, and I refuse to go to this one anymore; Like the one in Cheltenham (though nowhere near as busy), this location does not even allow customers into the entry vestibule, and rather than having an employee at the door at all times, they will have one check the front door every two minutes (According to a sign on the front door, this was supposed to be the case; I waited longer than two minutes this one time and ended up leaving in frustration). As a result, the line of customers gets really big at times.

Here's one; There's an Asian buffet place in Montgomery Township (I believe it's on 309), and this place holds the distinction of being the only place where I've had to get my temperature taken in order to go inside. Let me make clear that I do not have a problem with this; I am on the autism spectrum, and one of the many things Aspies like myself and other people on the spectrum have an issue with is the perceived invasion of personal space.

I generally don't like anybody in my personal space, even relatives and close friends, but I still hug and kiss people as a sign of affection. I will get annoyed if my parents "hover" in my bubble for too long.

What gets me here is that the female employee didn't really say what she was going to do, but rather just got in my space with the laser thermometer; I let her hold it to my head, and I'm gonna be honest...

I am much more at ease around women than around men, especially if the woman is particularly attractive like this one was. I don't know if anybody remembers, but in June 2020 I almost decked a guy in his early 20s at Mission BBQ for getting in my face to confront me about "not wearing my mask properly" (I had been wearing my mask properly, and had in fact just lowered it slightly so I could place my order without my glasses fogging up. The manager of the Mission BBQ saw this happen, stepped between us to keep me from knocking the guy's teeth out, and ultimately took my side.

Seriously, the employee who took my temperature was an attractive Chinese woman, probably in her 20s or 30s; Yes, I thought she was cute! She was also very polite, so she had two things going for her (a friendly woman).

This buffet place took a bit long in prepping my customer's order, but the place was nice and the staff was friendly so I'd go back again; Seriously though, people on the autism spectrum generally do not like strangers in their personal space!

I had a temperature check in 2 places, at the entrance of a medical office building and the other was the dentist office. Did you talk to the cute lady?

If any of you guys use DoorDash, and you want to be sure you're getting quality food, don't order from Pasqually's Pizza; Why not? Pasqually's Pizza is just a "ghost kitchen" operated out of Chuck E. Cheese's; There was an article in the local news about a woman who ordered from Pasqually's Pizza thinking she was supporting a local independent restaurant but did research and discovered the address was the same as a Chuck E. Cheese's in Philly. Needless to say, she was pretty pissed!

A lot of nationwide chains have been establishing these "ghost kitchens" which are exclusively ordered through apps like DoorDash and GrubHub; Bertucci's has a different ghost kitchen for both of these apps. It has been regarded among consumers as deceptive, and taking businesses from local establishments; I would personally agree! Another thing that's annoying is that DoorDash has apparently acquired another app called Slice, which exclusively deals with pizza places; There is one pizzeria on Easton Road in Warrington where DoorDash asks to me to identify myself as being with Slice...

I went to the Bertucci's in North Wales while doing DoorDash on Monday, and the order was not ready; I had a mask on and was six feet away from every other person in the restaurant. Like many chain restaurants, the bar in Bertucci's was closed due to COVID and used as a staging area for prepping orders. After the guy at the bar (who was also wearing a mask) told me the order wasn't ready, he then asked to wait in the lobby.

    o_O

I was not in the mood to wait ten minutes for the order, or be told where I could and could not wait when I was doing nothing wrong, so I gave the guy a "WTF?" stare before throwing up my hands in frustration and leaving. That particular Bertucci's is now on my personal shitlist of restaurants to pick up DoorDash orders from!

As of April 28th, 2021 this is my DoorDash shitlist…

    • Chick-Fil-A (with the exception of the Warrington location)

    • The Wendy's restaurants on Easton Road in Horsham and on Veterans Lane in Doylestown

    • The Taco Bell on York Road in Warminster
    • CVS

    • Walgreen's

    • Walmart

    • Bertucci's in North Wales/Montgomeryville

    • Pretty much any place in Peddler's Village, especially on a weekend!
