I hear shit too…was it there before? Who knows, but I hear shit now too.

Lately I’m stuck on hearing shit when I go by a Jersey wall and sounds are bouncing back at me.

When should we realistically expect that new tune? I’m excited for it, been checking my email since last Sunday.

Went for a drive, took a datalog but realistically I guess I shouldn't bother sending it.

Popped the hood again and started trying to tighten as many bolts as I could around the turbo/mani, and none were loose, but I also can't reach everything.

There's a definite exhaust leak type sound (loud, as if you had an open dump) coming from the area. Ugh. I don't fucking know.

Let it heat cycle a few times and keep checking the DP to YP flange, not much surface area for a good seal. 304 stainless expands quite a bit when hot. Worst case, replace the flange connections with V bands.

You're saying that it's possible that basically just driving it has the chance to correct it? Let the metal heat and expand and possibly fix itself? Fuck it, may as well try. Thanks.

Think it'd be a PITA to source the v-bands if necessary?

Question. Wild thought, maybe I'm retarded.

Is it possible that because I went from just 6psi on the OEM y-pipe to only 7 when I reinstalled the aftermarket one, that actuator arm tension is too loose perhaps, idk, and the turbo is out-spinning/outflowing the air that should be going through the exhaust now that it's free flowing again? Like the turbo isn't pushing enough air now? Idk, I'm just spitballing ideas here.

The sound is like the turbo spool combined with some sort of exhaust sound coming from right around the turbo area though. It's not as loud and angry as if the pipe was just dumping into open air like when someone cut out and stole the cats off our 4runner. But similar, if a tad more tame. I have back pressure. Although idk if I have enough back pressure or not. Truck still accelerates well, although maybe not quite as quick in 5th and 6th when starting at 2k rpm or so now...idk

Yes and no. I found mine to be leaking by 2 times, after the 3rd torque down it quit (when cool).

No, just make sure it’s 304 stainless. The EVIL branded one on Amazon is a decent one (2-1/4”). Finding a shop to tig weld them on might be a challenge depending on where you’re at.

I'm assuming I'd need to do the same up top with these if I go down that route. I could swear the sound is coming from up higher, well above the DP-YP connection.

You do not want any backpressure in a turbo system. the turbo itself creates enough backpressure.

Check that the donut gasket is sealed well with the Y Pipe. I am not sure about the URD Y Pipe but with the OEM one there is a male / female pipe / flange it fits inside and when the donut gasket is crushed in place there is zero gap between the two flanges

It's not available right now, and we are working on some details with a shop to help us provide the kit quicker

Do you have enough FPC’s to ship all remaining kits out or will you ship a few at a time?

I'll do that but I'm not even sure that's the issue. I don't hear the sound coming from that point. Even if I cold start it and walk over to the passenger side and listen through the wheel well or pop the hood to listen, it's definitely sounding like it's in the vicinity of the turbo/mani area.

Can you see any soot around any exhaust flanges?

So, just a thought. But since you have seemingly taken care of all the exhaust leaks, is it possible you are now able to hear the internal bypass/blowoff on the turbo?
