I was looking at a Wright Stander about that price, trying to talk myself in to it -- got distracted and bought the Tacoma instead.

Wife made a video of some old ass cutting our field on a Gravely. Not sure what that geezer is even doing.

Seriously NICE machine. I am NEVER letting the grasses get that long again. I stalled it once in some three foot grass, but otherwise did fine. One old rotten fence post hit. And just minor damage to the house.

That is very likely casting swarf if it's not magnetic. Not unusual but it's also why I do several oil changes early and then go to a 50 hour or yearly oil change.

Little more work to the mini skid steer. Got the tilt cylinder removed. Upper pin is seized BADLY. Hopefully it'll come out in the 20T press. I don’t want to mushroom the end.

I’ll put a bit of heat on it to warm it up if need be, after I disassemble it. It’s so worn I can move it with my pinky.

Had to pull the auto-leveling linkage with it, looks like someone failed to remove it before... Ends were a bit mushroomed.

Seized. It almost looks like it's part of the cylinder end.

#16 here is the pin we're looking at. I had the exact issue with PN #7, it was terribly seized. Took a lot of work to get it out. I'll drill for a grease zerk. Next to be pulled and greased are #2 and #21.

I hope you have a better experience with the thrower than I did. I had a 42" 3 stage on my Cub XT3. Used it for 2 seasons and sold it. My driveway is about 100 yards long and mostly gravel, it was difficult to keep it hovering at the right height. Got a 1971 Ariens self propelled unit and it's a tank.

Replace the skids with small, narrow wheels. Drop the blower and go. I had the same issue on my 6' blower on the rear of my loader. Some bogey wheels solved that, no longer had to hunt for the right height. Just drop it, the wheels kept it about 3/4"-1" off the surface, just let it rip.

I have an almost identical Ariens built in 1968. Yours has an operator presence control - hold to go. Mine has a clutch like a vehicle, release the handle and off it goes - if you don't happen to be there to steer it will keep going until it hits something. Awesome machine, I paid $250 for it 25 years ago.

Thats a good idea, but it wasn't worth it. The self propelled is nearly as fast, since I have a parking area that required a ton of maneuvering to clear with the tractor. It's also a lot better for clearing a path to drag my generator and clearing an area for my dogs, both being in grass.

That sounds nice. Holding that lever down for an hour or 2 gets old. Mine has the 6hp Tecumseh. Paid $300 a couple years ago. The "mechanic" i got it from said it just likes to run on 3/4 choke. Once I went through it and replaced the fuel line, which was gummed up beyond belief, it runs strong with no choke. Also added a fuel filter while I was at it. It doesn't seem to use any oil at all.

These Ariens were actually a tractor with attachments, I have only seen the Sno-Thro and mower in person. Check out the sulky seat!
Mine is the Tecumseh 6 hp also, never used any oil and always easy starting.
