WARM SPRING WEATHER CONTINUES: The sky is mostly cloudy over Alabama early this morning, and we note a few sprinkles on radar just before sunrise. These won’t last long, and the sky becomes partly sunny this afternoon as temperatures rise into the mid 80s again. The average high for Birmingham on April 28 is 77.

The day tomorrow will remain warm and generally dry with a high in the 80s… a few isolated showers are possible near the Tennessee state line. A band of showers will push into the state late tomorrow night into Friday morning ahead of a cold front; for North/Central Alabama the main chance of rain comes from about midnight tomorrow night through noon Friday. Showers could linger over the southern counties through the afternoon and evening hours.

Rain amounts of around 1/2 inch are likely, and while a rumble of thunder is possible, there is no risk of severe thunderstorms will very limited instability and weak dynamic forcing. Friday will be a bit cooler with a high in the mid 70s.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will be a day, pleasant day. With a good supply of sunshine, the high will be in the 77-80 degree range. But, on Sunday, we have adjusted our forecast as global models now show moist air returning. Sunday will feature more clouds than sun, and we will mention a chance of scattered rain showers. Not an “all day” rain by any means, but a passing shower or two will be possible with a high in the mid to upper 70s.

NEXT WEEK: Moist air will remain in place, and will continue to mention a chance of scattered showers Monday through Wednesday. The sky will be generally cloudy with highs in the low to mid 80s. The weather trends drier Thursday and Friday… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 2002: During the evening hours, a violent F4 tornado carved a 64-mile path across southeast Maryland. The La Plata, Maryland tornado was part of a larger severe weather outbreak that began in the mid-Mississippi Valley early on that day and spread across portions of the Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic States. In Maryland, three deaths and 122 injuries were a direct result of the storm.

ON THIS DATE IN 2014: A total of 29 tornadoes touched down in Alabama. One of them was an EF-3 in Limestone County that killed two people in a trailer park. An EF-3 in Cullman County moved from near Welti to Berlin; it struck a chicken, obliterating several large metal chicken houses. 25,000 chickens were killed in this one location. Just north of Birmingham, an EF-1 tornado resulted in extensive damage to the Kimberly Church of God where it uplifted of most of the roof structure resulted in exterior wall collapse. A large metal industrial building had one of its walls blown out as well.

Got my second shot today. I’m so done with these masks. My office won’t be requiring masks starting next week.

Im just messin with ya man! Shots are all just personal preference, and my preference is that I’ll take my chances with a 99% survivability rate. No shots for me or my family. Plus, I think I got it already last year.

Lol Honestly I got them mostly for the wife who has been pretty freaked out by all this. But I’ve had so many shots and meds from the times I’ve been to different parts of Africa that I couldn’t even tell you what all has been put in me. Holding out hope for super powers but no luck yet.

Gonna go back to my 265/75/16 duratracs and sell my 235/85/16 yokahama MT’s. Been great tires but consistently getting 14-15mpg daily driving is tough, I miss the 18-19mpg I was getting with the duratracs. Anyone interested in the yokes? They got about 16K on them. I’ll have them off the truck in about a week or two

Damn that sucks. I haven’t even put mine on yet. I’m guessing middle summer is when my current tires will be bald. They are 8lbs heavier than what I’m currently running.

My current tires are SL, but I'm going with LT in a C rating next time. I'm sticking with the NRGs, and they'll be a bit heavier, but I really like the deeper tred blocks on the LTs.

They were well worth the extra traction when I was 2wd. My only complaint with them was the mpg, I’m crying every time I fill up:rofl:

Im getting 16-17 average now. Used to get 18-19 like you. A little gas mileage is a good trade off for extra traction off road.
