I love my 2014. I changed to the color matched side covers though.

    Thanks!

I need to post a pic of it when it's clean and freshly waxed. My previous FJR was a 2007 the Black Cherry, another great color on those bikes.

It seldom looked that good again. LOL. Discovered a FJR forum, then a RTE to meet some like minded riders. Met a few Iron Butt Rally finishers and learned about serious long distance riding. Now have 5 IBA certs on the walls and that bike went on to finish the 2019 Iron Butt Rally before meeting an untimely demise in September of 2019. In that pic it had about 8600 miles on it. 7 years and 1 month later when it got hit it had just turned 127,000. Probably the best bike I've ever owned. The 2014 is on the way though and i do love electronic cruise control.

Anyone care to recommend a comfortable helmet?

I have a bit of a helmet dilemma. I've tried on what I can locally but there's not a lot of shops or people I know who wear helmets (not required in South Dakota).

I'm taking delivery of a bike next Friday and want to ride home with a helmet on, but all I have is an old crappy dirt bike helmet I wore when I was in my teens and twenties that looks cheaper than a Walmart bike helmet haha.

It'll do if need be, but I'd like to order one today/tomorrow to try and have it here on time. I need it anyway for this riding season.

Problem is, I have a weird shaped head or something . . . Literally everything I try on has immediate hot spots and is very uncomfortable. I'm not talking about whining because it's less comfortable than no helmet at all ha, I wore a POS helmet all through the Marine Corps and have had who knows how many uncomfortable hard hats, welding helmets, etc. over the years.

I'm back to riding on the road/highway this season and don't have a helmet.

Any recommendations on what you've found to be the most comfortable/breathable/lightweight/etc Full Face helmets on the market.

Don't care one bit about brand or "best" or even the right "style" or anything. Just whatever is the least hot spot prone and the more unnoticeable on a long ride.

Budget is anything from Arai XD4 to Shoei RF1200/1400 on down to cheap off brands.

I'll be honest, I only wore a helmet growing up when I felt like I was doing something risky. I'd like to start right this season and actually wear gear all the time. But man, everything I try on, instant hot spots and discomfort (have never tried on top brand expensive helmets as no shop here stocks them).

Help a guy ride safe and find a helmet that I won't be tempted to forgo once in a while like the weak dumb bastard I can be ha.

Thank you for any suggestions! (23" dome, intermediate oval)

Considering ordering a few from Revzilla and trying them all on and sending some back.

I personally like arai helmets. Always felt they were comfy and fit great. And light. Also I love icon helmets. I've owned many from them.

Thanks, man. I'm thinking I'll just have a test a bunch but it's good to hear where to start.

Found a pic of the chair from a few summers back. Worked great with the top case as a table top. Paired with my pannier beer cooler and some charcuterie lunchable things.

Driveshaft disconnect to be flat towed behind our RV.
I spent years riding sport quads and RZRs with my wife and older kids (now 19 and 21) until they lost interest.
Just started getting back into riding, with bikes this time, as my youngest son absolutely loves dirt bikes. (Age 10 and small for his age)
We had an awful lot of fun the day this picture was taken. He is currently on a KLX110R and I am on a YZ250FX.
Looking forward to doing alot of trail riding with him, and getting him on the KX85 we are building as his next bike.

Awesome! I'll look into it. I think first I need to replace the bag that i melted. Was thinking a hard case from harbor freight attached to my mounts. The left side can stay a soft bag.

Then i can attach stuff to the box and not worry about it being expensive.
