Good idea, but that is beyond me, esp for reliability. :D

I was thinking about a module with mobile sensor. Walk away from vehicle, system returns to OEM, get close or inside, system is ON.

    Another possible option is
Yeah, could be fun to noodle on for me.

What I think I'd personally prefer, though, would be the lock to roll up the windows if they are down. I had an old DEI alarm which did that a few decades ago. Would be a nice option. Perhaps via double-click so a single lock click won't roll 'em if you wanted them open for some reason (not sure what good that does.)

Proximity would be cool, but even a rocker switch near the fuse box would be just fine also.

 I'm in zero rush. It has been a thing for me since my first car with power windows. The last crank window car I had, there was corrosion protection over-sprayed on to the window tracks. Being a 2dr, the windows were large and a nice work out to crank up and down.

Remote control would be nice, but the usual situation for me is just wanting to open or close the windows when the key is out of reach. Say, cleaning the windows or opening or closing them for rain. Or chilling to some tunes on ACC, and just want to adjust the windows while inside or outside of the Taco.

So many times, it has me thinking that this one aspect of crank windows was superior.

Windows already are a switch, seems nuts to have a switch to allow you the privilege of using a switch. Probably ideal would be turn them into a double rocker, one engages the power relay for the motors if it's off and then the regular functionality to move up/down.

Basically that rocker switch but use a relay triggered from the window switch itself or the ecu feed?

True, esp when the unlock feature could be used as that switch. We do park our vehicles unlocked in the garage though.

The problem with just a rocker switch is forgetting to turn it off.
Maybe just a 10h delay timer if the parasitic draw isn't significant and it can reset off an unlock pulse?

Or just reset to OEM by expired time after dash switch pulse.

P.S. It'll only work for Tacoma's without the JAM feature.

Interesting. I will have to check, but I think mine has the jam feature. I remember the windows stopping once when I bounced off of our driveway curb. Or, are you saying that I'd need to disable the jam feature, which would be fine also.

This only gets us to 15 minutes of delay. Hmmm.... Need more power scotty...

I like the adjustable range, but I think 1hr would be minimum? 4hr to 8hr would be optimal?

Nope, the jam feature should not be disabled. The Tacoma that has the anti JAM feature gets power to the window motors differently.
