Broadheads

I'm trying to decide what broadheads to get. i usually shoot the G5 montec, but you can't really sharpen them once they get dull. i'm thinking about getting the magnus stinger buzzcut. Any bowhunters out there, what broadhead do you shoot/reccommend?

 

I originally started out with muzzy 125's....then I went to magnus stinger buzzcuts, liked them, but I went to 100 grain muzzy mx4's and 100 grain muzzys this year. I just bought a pack of rage 2 blades, so I am anxious to see how they fly and the damage I can with them. I have heard mixed reviews, but again, I have not had a chance to use them on a deer yet. It's all about what you want. That is the beauty of hunting, try different things out, it's whatever works for you.

 

I agree with canuck, just have to try a few and go with what you like.

I have been using the Vortex Mini-max broadheads and killed many deer with them. They fly exactly like my field points.

Next year I hope to get a new bow and complete new setup. Don't know what I will be using this time next year.

i have used muzzy's.....nice heads, i have used nap thunderheads....those are nice, and pretty strong too......., steelforce sabretooths....nice,easy to sharpen, and now i am using some crimson talon heads.........friggin sharp, but havent got a shot at a deer yet with my bow this year.

 

I'm shooting the Rage 2 blades. I shot a fox with them last night. 3in entrance and about a 3.5in exit. Hopefully I can get a shot off on a deer this year. Good luck on your decision making.

Me and all of my hunting buddies use Muzzy's. They are very durable and you can replace the blades. One of my friends shot a very big black bear and it only ran 50 yards.
I have been rolling around the idea to use slick trick broad heads next year. Try out some different broad heads and use what ever works best for your set up.

Thunderheads thunderheads thunderheads. They have never given me a reason not to like them

 

I've been shooting (G5) Strikers and they have always performed well. I've also used Muzzy but I think the Strikers are better because the tip is a solid piece were as the Muzzy tip is only held on by thin metal threads. I think I'm gonna give the Rage 2 blades a try this year. They'll all do their job with a good shot.

A spike I shot with Rage 2 blade last Fri.
