    I am interested in knowing if the wiring is all there to add a factory cargo lamp to my 2017 Off Road Access Cab. I know I would need to buy the factory switch and switch plate, and of course the cargo lamp to replace the factory brake light. But other than the parts, will this work without rewiring etc. ? If this is possible, I am very interested in how to do it. I'm very handy, but I didn't want to do this blind if someone else has the info already.

    all tore up already
    Think you will run jnto a few issues:
    -Doubt its wired for cargo light since no AC trucks come with them.
    -not sure where youd get a replacement 3rd brake light with cargo light as the ac and dc trucks yse totally different assemblies and attach completely different (prob not interchangable)

    That being said the resident light expert @mesojdm has modded some 3rd brake lights, havent seen a AC version yet

    According to another post. The plug for the switch is there and has power. I know am missing a relay for the cargo light which just needs to be popped in. The only thing I am unsure of is if the cargo lights are the same size in the access cab and double cab, and if the wiring for the cargo light is up there with the 3rd brake light wiring.

    From my research here is what I have found;

    Access cabs have a carry over 3rd brake light from the previous 2nd GENS. Easy way to identify are the 2 external mount screws. and the corners are more rounded. I am actually working with another 3rd Gen A/C member on a custom brake light WITH built in cargo light combo. Whats happening @Storman ?!
    We are using a 2nd gen brake light housing(already confirmed fitment) and retrofitting cargo lamps/LED brake lights like my Ultimate 3rd gen light. Here is a roughly what it will look like(keep in mind will also be smoke tinted);
    [IMG]

    P.s. They are not pre-wired for a Cargo light(To my knowledge) You will most likely have to run a separate wire up to the light for cargo lamp power.

    Double cabs(3rd gens) have a totally new brake light. They will NOT work in the A/C. Different footprint, and most importantly the cab is molded for the curvature of the OEM LED cargo light. It is mounted via 2 nuts from the INSIDE. (PITA to change. WTF Toyota). Yes, they were kind enough to add cargo lights, but they still mega fail. The housing is completely sealed and will need to be cut open if you want to do any modding.
    Here is my ULTIMATE 3rd GEN 3rd Brake/cargo light:

    VS STOCK(yes they are both on lol)

    Just ask @Elliotttr35 how bright they are:eek:

    Which one? The access cab is still in beta mode.
    I sold the Double cab ultimate, but will have another available soon.

    When you have an AC version available for the 3rd Gen, let me know. I would be very interested. Like I said before, from what I've found so far, the AC does have the plug for the DC cargo lamp switch and also has the fuse and an empty space for the cargo lamp relay. I can handle some minor wiring if you make this lamp. This needs to be made available for all those new AC owners who want to shed some light on this situation :)

    $225 or $150 if you send the stocker back to me.
    I am definitely making one. Will post a build thread on it. Can you do me a favor? Pop the 2 screws out on the 3rd brake light and check which harness is behind there. Maybe Snap a pic?

    I can do that. I'll post pics here in the next couple of days.

    Finally a CARGO light for Access cab guys?!
    [IMG]

    I wish I could use a OEM housing..but they are all tinted red. So I am stuck with an aftermarket unit. That's ok, because it's whats inside that counts. This prototype uses a smoked outer lens. That works, but my next test will use a clear lens with smoke tint and cutout windows like my Double cab model so cargo light will be much brighter.

    Cracked open and dismembered;
    [IMG]

    Step 1: get rid of the chrome and christmass tree LEDS

    Mocked up; White LED panels on each side for cargo light and I will do 3 strips of red in the center for brake.
    [IMG]

    How it will look. You can really tell how much bigger the double cab factory LED brake light is in comparison o_O
    [IMG]

    BTW i just realized that this will work on 2nd gens! You guys have a stealth/factory cargo light option now!3rd gens are still better
