I can’t speak specifically to the differences as I don’t have enough experience in both. But my SLT experience is that after about 2+ tanks, the tip in seems to have gotten just a wee bit more aggressive. I think it’s stable now, but didn’t really notice it change until after a full two tanks. It’s not significant, just above the threshold for noticeable.

Just got tuned yesterday by @SubaruTheTacoma yesterday in selma. Great guy answered all my questions and then some. My truck drives great now, snappy start, consistently in gear (I haven't noticed any gear hunting since driving yesterday). So far I'm getting 17.6mpg vs my normal 16.6 in the city. I'm still on my first tank so I'll continue to drive normally until my 4th tank. My first trek into the mountains will be tomorrow, going to go hit up some streams and rivers to try and land me some steel head trout. I'll see how she does driving in the hills and forest roads. I'll update after 2 weeks on ect and sport mode after my truck is done learning. again thanks Rhys for the tune!! Thank you @TWTaco and @PapaRee for coming up with the KDmax 6.0 tune!! keep up the awesome work.

Quick question, I forgot to ask yesterday. Has anyone had any issues with passing smog with the tune in place?

All smog tests have gone smoothly. I know for sure that @trdquoc just recently got his tested in SoCal, which has one of the most thorough tests, and passed with no issues.

when I attempted to do the tune from light tip to wife-tip this afternoon vftuner says it's the wrong truck and disables flashing. it comes back when I reopen but just happens again. Not sure why as the ECU is the same and doesn't say it is locked or requires additional credits. Can anyone help me out?

edit: i tried to direct message Kreg, but my foreign internet doesn't care for this site much.

I flashed my 2021 trd sport 4x4 Dclb today with the regular octane kdmax6.0 tune. Went from the base ov tune to this beast of a tune. After the flashing I couldn’t wait and instantly ripped around the neighborhood. It’s fun! I can’t wait to get some real miles on this tune to get a real feel for it. But for now I’m pumped with the throttle response of this tune!

Starting my second tank. KDMAx 6.0 SLT 87. Afe Dry Air. Flow Acceleler. Gibson Cat back. Superb. Mileage is great when I keep out of it. Over 17.5 most of the time on longer trips. Here's a short trip under 50 miles.

wow. I’m liking what I have read so far about tuning. Kinda wish there was someone near me that does this. I think I would enjoy that kind of improvement.

I am curious if anyone here is/was having the same issue as me and if the tune might be able to fix this.

When I make a turn at normal speed, my Auto limited slip kicks on, more so on right hand turns which won't let me accelerate until the truck is in a straight line. The dash light comes on and off letting me know it is kicking in. This happens in 2wd only not 4wd and it all happens quickly, within a couple of seconds, 2-3 at the most. I spend a ton of time in the truck driving so I have gotten used to it. Occasionally I need to make a right turn and hit the gas semi hard as I need to merge into traffic. It's a crappy feeling when you hit the gas and have to wait for the rear brakes to let loose before it will accelerate. I have 295 tires so I know that is part of the issue and I know you can disable the Auto LS, its just a bit much as many times as I get in and out of the truck on a daily basis.

Does your current tune take this into account? Thank you.

Turns out I believe I had forgotten to disable the headunit's OBD read connection. This may have been what caused the issue, all good now.
