Arguably one of the most perfect saw setups you can have.

Thanks. I was hunting for a 461 but they are sparse in my area. Heard good things about the 462 and I pulled the trigger. Glad I did. This thing is wicked!

I only use a chainsaw a couple times per year, so I picked up this 80v Kobalt saw the other day. I already had the 80v mower, weedeater, and leaf blower, so I can just use the batteries and chargers I already have. I've only used it once, but it seems to work well.

    Almost got it cleaned up.
Maple is heavier that one would think this time of year.

    The oak definitely split better.

I have a MS250 18", and a Terra 45 winch. I added a wireless winch control, which is awsome, and works well over 100' away.
I have lots of 100'+ trees, enough to harvest selectively for the duration. Most recent was a 110' sycamore, laid it down right on the creek bank, easy peasy. Bucked it up, winched it out of the gorge with a deer sled and the truck winch.
Rounds stacked up to about a cord, looks like. Have to service the splitter next, then I'll process it. This one tree will make my next winter firewood supply, plus a half cord fudge factor I have left from last winter. Glad to have it done before the summer heat.

I haven't first hand but a tree guy I know has one. I find that most Echo stuff is solid and underrated. I am looking at Echo string trimmers and very impressed with what I'm reading..

Not trying to muddy the water here, just speaking from my first hand experience.

In the first year at my new house, I had a decent wind storm that took out a good chunk of my dying willow. Dog for scale:

My buddy, an arborist for his day job, had an Echo. I had my Stihl (2nd or 3rd job). The Echo (brand new purchased that day) jammed up twice. The Stihl kept rocking and rolling; just needed a sharpen, gas and bar oil. My .02. He plans to sell his Echo and get a Stihl.

I ran an echo string trimmer for several years when I had my landscaping business. It was good for about 3 years when the carb failed. But that was every day use. Their saws used to be top notch. Quality slipped a little when they started selling to the big box stores.

I switched to Tanaka. In fact 9 years ago I found an older Tanaka in a pawn shop that had the string trimmer and a hedge trimmer attachment. I beat the phar out of that unit cutting blackberry vines and trimming tall evergreen pyramidalis and junipers. It still starts first pull and runs forever. Unfortunately the company recently sold out. So now I have a new upper tier Stihl and two older Tanaka’s. All 3 have straight solid steel shafts and bearings at both ends. The Stihl is a nice unit, but you wouldn’t go wrong if you found a gently used Tanaka in good shape.
