vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

@OVTune Is that something I can get you from my other vehicle?

 

Anyone seen this D3 tuning?

@OVTune how do you feel about the competition?

 

I'd respectfully ask that this company is not posted about in our threads. This company admits to purchasing competitors products, including purchasing ours, to assist with their product development. I do not consider companies that create their products in this way as competition.


I am not making any accusations. I am only stating fact that they purchased our tunes a few months before releasing their own tunes, and when asked they said part of their business model is to purchase competitors tunes/devices/products to assist with their product development.

 

It did seem very familiar...

 

Also this company "D3 Performance" is blacklisted from using or accessing our software and anyone providing material information regarding special access tables "VFT" map naming structures, patch information, flashing methods, etc to them from our software will have their license to use the software revoked.

 

I've seen their soon to be realesed tune package for $600 for the 3.5L Camry, very nominal gains on paper and I'm not sure how much they can improve on the stock tune. It's an 8speed AT with manual mode, 0-60 is average for a 3600lb car, but 60-120mph (closed course) is unbelievable.

VFTuner supports the 3.5L 2018-2021 Camry and I would test a tune for free.

 

VF Tuner doesn't offer tunes for the Camry. Only tuning tools.
This company, according to their site seems to offer the same, a tuning tool, with similar credit based cost system.



Our tool is different, as we strive to provide the most tuning parameters, *custom* code, ecu brick protection, ECU locking, continued service, and non stop development which we share with the community.

Our tool allows you to tune with confidence. We own a tacoma. We test on our tacoma, on our dyno. We spent years reversing the code.

One of the things I'm personally most proud of about our tool is the access to alternator controls. May not sound like much but to me is a big milestone for us.

Speaking of which, are you able to enable the alternator controls, or if you have access to them, for the 2013 GX460 (60J90)?

 

I can check but so far I haven't found any of the older Toyota's to have any intelligent alternator controls. They all use more legacy methods with relays and such.

 

Anyone have some input on how to fix this? Trying to get the ECU ID for my s/c install and running into an issue with the drivers I think. I installed the drivers directly from the program and also tried downloading the install file off Magnuson's website with no change.

 

It looks like your are connected to the Net also, so I'm a bit clueless. Do you have the Tactrix plugged in on both ends? Taco and computer.

 

Ignition on with truck not running? Two presses of start button with foot off brake.

 

Close and reopen the software.

 

Close and reopen the Taco also.

 

And the garage.

someone should make a video for the utube with a very detailed "how-to" on everything from purchasing to downloading to installing.....it seems like making this process more "idiot user friendly" would increase sales and probably eliminate a lot of problems for initial users......
personally, i would like to give this tuning jazz a go, but i work a crazy schedule so hooking up with someone to do it for me is difficult ......and what if there is a problem after the tune or something?....then i would have to sort out trying to hook back up with the tuner guy that lives 1.5 hrs away.....
anyhow, .....i'm just complaining....
but it probably would be helpful to a lot of people to have a detailed video.....
