I would almost be tempted to experiment if I had the stock one.... now that 3D printing is so readily available you might be able to cut a section out and 3D print a sleeve to put the head back on.

I have a printer and you are tempting me sorely. Unfortunately my buddy is across the country and I am snorkel-less.

Those with the universal cut out, how close is your light bar to the fairing?

If you make your own mounting bracket, you can place it wherever you like. If you look at my previous post, I posted a pic of the bracket I made. I made it so the light bar sits as close as it can so it can still move up and down, and just below the first load bar so that anything on the rack wont be sitting on the light bar.

Ordered the UpTop Truss Bed Rack and 13 weeks later, here she is.... No RTT though, a deal fell thru. UpTop has some great quality, from packing the shipping carton to individual parts zip lock baggies. I am not going to lie, the Bed Rack was not fun to install, I could not find any Softopper Bed Rack install videos and the instructions are not accurate. IG —- @ncoldmanoverland

    Can someone identify these parts?

Is it really a 13 week lead time? Damn. I ordered mine on 27 March. Looks like I've got more waiting to do.

^^ This is the "Maxwrench" for wrenching down maxtrax pins"^^

I asked the same question when installing mine, the response. was that they are for the little compression bracket near the tailgate. I never used mine going on a year and no issues yet!

Monday will be 13 weeks for me after ordering Feb 1, I haven't received a shipping notification yet so I imagine the lead time is longer now, probably time for them to update the stated 8-10 week lead time!

Damn. Was hoping to have the rack up and running by the last week of May. Got some training to do and it would be helpful. Oh well. I knew the long lead time going in. Still looking forward to the rack.

Yeah I have no doubt they are working hard for us, hoping to have my racks done for my trips starting in a few weeks.

i asked this a couple pages ago, but it got buried. If anyone has the time, can you measure the distance between the grab handle screw holes on the side of the rack? I have some old handles I want to use, but they require a 7.5in screw spacing. Thanks everyone.

Edit: Asking because I dont want to drill. If my handles dont fit, i'll just buy the UpTOP handles they have.

The handles are attached to a plate that is then attached to the rack and there is a spacer between the plate and rack.. it's not threaded.... Id say if you really wanted yours to work I'd just fab a plate with their hole spacing and yours and put spacers between it and the rack

I placed my order for an Alpha roof rack on February 22 - I still do not have it. If you are planning trips around having these racks from UpTop I would not recommend doing so. Right now I am at 10 weeks and counting for just this one piece. I also placed an order on March 26 for a TRUSS bed rack and I don't expect to have this until early to mid-summer maybe early to mid-June perhaps?

They are working on them I am sure of it, however, the lead times are very, very long. Yet, so are everyone else's lead times so it just seems to come with the territory.

Apparently there’s a delay in Softoppers shipping too. I got this in an email from them on my order:

“Please be advised that due to a major metal shortage in the US, this is causing extensive delays in shipping our product.

Unfortunately, we do not have an anticipated shipping date currently for all Softopper models. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

If your items are out of stock, you will be emailed within 5 business days the time range of when we expect to have your items back in stock. Your order will then be shipped in the order it was received based on the availability of the clamps necessary to install the Softopper. All orders of accessories and replacement parts will have the normal processing/shipping times of 3-5 business days.”
