I need to get a front end alignment and was wondering what parts you would replace BEFORE getting that done? The previous owner never rotated his tires by the looks of it and the two on the front could do with becoming spares pretty quick. The outer edge is much more worn than the rest of the tire and the rear tires look brand new.

I'd like to change those tires and get an alignment after I replace some things like lower ball joints. I know replacing some stuff will cause me to need an alignment but not sure what that stuff would be. The truck has a 3 inch Toytec lift if that helps. Thanks all. 260k miles on the truck.

    Inner/outer tie rods

    Lower control arm bushings

    Tires

Possibly upper control arms, if you really are running a 3" lift

Funny how these questions and more pop up in tbe LT

I think its cause of how much traction this thread gets, always on the main page. But on that same note, questions can get buried pretty quick too in all our limitless BS lol

Haha I am always surprised by the speed of which I get questions answered on forums. I didn't think this question was worth a whole thread and I am the absolute worst at searching for these types of things.

There’s another thread that’s really for more technical stuff, but ends up becoming a debate more often than not.
This thread was created for BSing, but still fine for questions.

Is there something to look for to know if I should get some fancy upper control arms?

They all do the same thing, it's all preference on brand and balljoint style.

Question is - which one? Nobody likes people who talk rectally.

Well, I mean this is why my post specifically stated "if you really have 3" of lift"

Aftermarket control arms allow for larger adjustments, and add more caster, to allow for proper alignment when you're lifted.
