AT to Man is as Ride along is to Drive. You decide.

Have you ever noticed how autobox motorcycles have gone over? There is a message there.

    Pay attention!

Much prefer manual over auto. Used to be about 1K cheaper for manual but sadly the new manual tx Taco is about 3K more because of all the "extras" lumped in with it that I neither need nor want.

Intesting, considering I got a lot of options and it was about $2K less than an equivalent AT

Toyota builds low take rate configs in batches. When I was shopping, there were three MTs in my area to choose from with only color differences. Thankfully, they all didn't have the the Tech or Prem packages that I didn't want. It is the same case with Pros, Limiteds, DCLBs, and certain colors.

This is the only real reason.

I drive my truck enough to know how to hit the gas to get the acceleration I want out of it. I still don't understand how people don't learn their trucks shifting preferences.

I still know how to drive stick, but beside maybe a sports car in the distant future, or a motorcycle in the near future, I don't see myself needing it. If I were to have an accident where any one of my limbs broke, I wouldn't be able to drive home...and more than likely @ALI3N_123 or anyone else Im with wouldn't be able to drive us home. MTs are generally inconvenient. Theres a reason the AT costs more and thats because its better.

    Why?
Because if and when I ever sell it, they'll be flying in from half-way across the country to buy it.

Does this happen a lot to you? This rationale comes up often and I am just curious.

On the extreme side, I've been in motorcycle collisions where I was either able to ride it home or get home and grab the trailer. Similar with breakdowns.

Not poking at you, but wouldn't that be similar to saying I don't ski / bicycle / surf / step off a curb because I might get hurt someday?

I am honestly not ribbing you, just trying to wrap my head around the issue.

After 40+ years of shifting I have no regrets with my automatic Taco.

Beat me to it. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug!

Haven't had to yet and touch wood I never will but I'm 100% sure I could drive my 6MT with a broken arm or leg and maybe even one of each on flat ground.

It is. I've gotten the fuck out of a situation when it was just me and no other property damage. Looking back at those times, it was still the right course of action.

We have a lot less models to choose from in Canada. No 2wd, no 4cyl, three colours for base model, refrigerator white, dark gray, black.
