Think mine will continue. Gotta go get that 04 this weekend and I’m gonna laugh when I hit the frame with a hammer. I have a good feeling she’s toasted.

It continues. It needs more money than I’m comfortable with spending on maintenance considering the frame. I’m giving the title to my friend and he’ll just use it to haul deer until she buckles on the farm.

Sure is, in a few more weeks it’ll be a zoo down there. I saw a couple boater vehicles at the take out and a wrangler coming up out, but otherwise it was quiet. Road on both sides is still rough as ever.

They closed the bridge that crosses Big Sandy at “Rockville” effectively killing that nice chopped up horrible dirt road drive. Nowhere to park on the south side of the bridge it’s all posted up and someone is building a camp. That side of the road is bordering on a 4X4 trail now. North side some out of state interests are trying to build a development. Looks like a scam to me but the road over there is better than 75% of main highways in Preston County.

Beautiful! Do they stock that part of the Cheat River with trout? That's a little further (3 hours) than I usually drive to fish but it looks enticing!

I think the lowest they stock is rowlesburg and that’s by a sportsman’s club. Water’s too warm for trout and just now coming back from total AMD destruction of all life in the river

cheat canyon is beautiful tho :)

It's funny to me that 25 years ago that bridge was closed off on both sides to vehicular traffic, we would come in through Masontown and walk across to the Blue Hole but then people moved the barriers and got a few more decades of use out of it.

It’s stocked with trout from Rowlesburg downstream to Pringle runs entrance. Aka the narrows. Tough fishing and heavily pressured for the past few years but I think the smallest they put in is 2lbs. I’m not a fan of the stockings though. It makes me think people are also keeping some smallmouth out of there now. I’d rather see that club focus their funds on tributary enhancement for Brook trout or main stem work to help out the slow growing smallmouth population. The state really should step up and do something for smallmouth like a slot limit it’s being fished exponentially more now from Parsons to Pringle run.

It's bound to get the woods trampled with people going for Morel Selfies. Hopefully they find the wrong shroom...
