Andy was texting me and being all cryptic that day. I didn't know what he was up to. I was on my way out for a Chiro appt and nearly tripped over it, the mailman left it on my stairs. As soon as I picked it up I knew - Andy's texts made sense all of a sudden. But I had to get going to make my appt on time so I had to just throw it in the house and left. As soon as I got home I ripped into the envelope.... i sort of screamed and laughed as I pulled MermAndy out of the mailer. Laughed for probably an hour straight after that.... laughing now thinking about it.

 

well... I WAS going to go to Yellowstone this weekend. Figured I'd better check the camp situation. Mammoth camp is the only one in the park open this time of year and most FS camps are closed due to snow. Good thing I checked. Mammoth was supposed to be first come first served until Tuesday but according to recreation.gov the entire camp is booked full! They must have been overwhelmed with folks looking for campsites and started reservations earlier than expected.
So now plan B...no idea what that's going to be. I need cell service Saturday AM as I have a chance to get camp reservations for Memorial Day weekend so that's going to limit things a bit.

 

I think I'll be abandoning any Yelly plans. Its just tough this time of year - a lot of stuff doesn't open until maybe 5/15ish

and after all of that he still left enough of a trail to be caught... dumbass. whatever charges they file aren't enough... what was the overall cost of the fire in terms of lost homes and all of the effort to fight the fire? nothing can ever come close to making up for the lost land, homes, lives.
