I tried all of that and just went out again for good measure. Might have to borrow a laptop from a friend to see if that changes anything. The OBD connector lights up and when I plug it in or unplug it the computer dings indicating something was plugged in/unplugged.

Typically, @OVTune recommends USB 2.0 ports, but I have always been able to flash on 3.0. Do you have any kind of USB hub or accessory that has USB ports on it? Those usually knock 3.0 down to 2.0.

I'm using a Surface Pro X which only has USB C so there is an A to C adapter in the mix. I haven't had problems with other devices before but it could definitely be a factor, as could the Pro X version of Windows 10.

That should have Windows Home (standard) on it. We just got one of those for our daughter. My Surface Pro 6 has Win10 Home. Just checked.

You're C to A might still be 3.0? It might be worth digging for the specs of that adapter.

I know the power adapter on mine has a USB A port on it, but I don't know if it is charging or data. I can't check that ATM.

    Nah! Don't say that.

The creator is a tC owner, but we can certainly spam that vid around here.

Curious what the lead time is on Zendesk responses. Submitted a ticket (26247) late last week attempting to get the latest vF software running on a new laptop. Basically need a password reset I think.

Once I get that working I’d like to send you the 2021 4Runner file if you need it. Would love to get that tuned.

Do you have the 2021 file?

2020+ 4R's can't even be bench-read, let alone read out normally like Tacomas, per Mat. They're read-locked, can only identify. I've been pestering him about anything I can do to help for a year because I want to tune my 2020

    What 2021 4Runner file?

I don't see any updates on TIS

No, I couldn’t do it on my old software, then that computer had an issue so I’m trying to get the new software running on a new laptop to see if it could read it. I haven’t seen much traffic on T4R’s to know if it is even possible. Good to know it may just be that the ECU can’t be read yet.

Well 2019 and earlier 4R's can be bench-read. 2020+ are not even bench-readable, meaning the only way to get a file would be if Toyota drops a TSB ECU update cuw for them

I have two 4runners, one is a '08 and one's a '20, can confirm that you can only identify them. I scour the internet and various helpful sites for anything about bin files or cuw's for the 2020 almost daily lol

I could identify it, but not read it. Don’t have a screen shot on me but I think it’s 33E50 or something like that. I think it’s the same as one you posted before but with an E.

I’ll post a screen shot of the identify from my 2021 T4R when I get home later.

I ended up bringing a work laptop home with Windows 7 Pro on it and had no issues.

I started off this journey on stock 390 gears. I noticed that the values I input for shift points were four to five miles per hour off from real world results. I have since then gone to 529s and my values are now 20 plus miles per hour different even with changing the differential settings in the tune. Has anyone else noticed this anomaly? A 62 mph up shift used to yield 58 mph actual and that is now 45 mph actual. Utilizing the exact same tune just changing differential gear values.

Input for both differential and differential 2? Confirmed no errors in entering the 5.29?

I can confirm the approx. 4-5mph error on stock gears.

how do you like the 5.29s?
