Thanks man. I'm used to loosing and making a lot in a day. It wasn't the fact that I lost a bunch. It was the fact that I called it wrong. I thought for sure today was gonna be stellar. With all the positive data out this week I was positive the Nasdaq was gonna crush it. Believing that then watching it all go south really pissed me off more then it normally does. lol

My Ford covered call was like -89% all day and I just checked it again and it’s back to 0% and I’m only out $.24 total?

I’m fucking glad I’m experimenting in options with the LEAST possible risk...

I have no idea what I’m looking at. Hahahaha.

Hmmmmmmm. I thought about it, and since I’ve had a few adult beverages tonight after work I’m gonna sleep on it and attempt to figure it out when the bell sounds at 9:30. Hahahaha...

OptionsProfitCalculator.com is really helpful to visualize how fucked you are on an option or how bad of an idea it might be. Their site is clunky and shitty, though.

I made an alternative, but in classic "me" fashion, it is not publicly available because it's half finished and I have no confidence in it.

totally misjudged MSFT earnings calls...
i bought a couple of puts to hedge...but then sold 'em too soon before it fking cratered today...would've at least covered some of my optimistic calls.
went in a little half cocked...great recipe for disaster...

got some decent day trades in today though...so i've got that going for me....

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Alex Oh, who last week became the first woman of color to lead the U.S. securities watchdog's enforcement division resigned on Wednesday due to potential conflicts of interest created by her previous work as a lawyer, according to the agency and a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

The unusual turn of events is a blow for new Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chair Gary Gensler, for whom Oh was among his first big hires, and underscores the challenges of filling top agency roles with Wall Street defense attorneys.

In her resignation letter to Gensler on Wednesday, shared with reporters, Oh said a "development" relating to one of her previous cases would be "an unwelcome distraction to the important work of the Division."

The issue at hand relates to Oh's work defending Exxon Mobil Corp against a lawsuit in her previous role as partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, according to a person familiar with the matter who requested anonymity to share the information.

The SEC is probing Exxon Mobil over asset valuation issues, according to a January report by the Wall Street Journal, and the matter could create a potential conflict of interest if Oh were to remain in the role, agency sources said. This issue came to the attention of SEC officials this week, the person said.

Oh previously served as co-leader of Paul, Weiss' anti-corruption team. During her 17 years at the firm she worked for a slew of corporations and Fortune 100 companies.

Oh decided to resign after U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth in a Monday order raised questions over her conduct during a deposition in the Exxon case, according to the order and the person with knowledge of the matter.

Brad Karp, chairman of Paul, Weiss, he could not comment on ongoing litigation, but added: "Alex is a person of the utmost integrity and a consummate professional." A representative for Exxon did not immediately provide comment.

While other SEC officials, including former chair Jay Clayton have had long careers in private practice, progressives have put pressure on Democratic President Joe Biden's administration to eschew industry hires due to concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

After her April 22 appointment, a group of advocacy groups wrote to Gensler saying they were "deeply surprised and concerned" by his choice.

"The SEC has failed the American people by repeatedly selecting Wall Street defense lawyers as Directors of Enforcement," said Dennis Kelleher, Chief Executive Officer of Better Markets, a Washington group advocating for Wall Street reform.

"They come to the SEC with needless and unhelpful baggage, including crippling conflicts of interest regarding current and past clients as well as a mindset...ill-suited to being an aggressive enforcer," he added.

The agency named Melissa Hodgman as acting director of the division, a role she previously held between January and April.

SEC Chair Gary Gensler's pick to serve as the agency's enforcement director resigned unexpectedly on Wednesday amid mounting criticism from progressives over her work as a corporate defense lawyer.

Alex Oh, who was in private practice for two decades before Gensler announced her new role last week, resigned after a federal judge reprimanded her and others defending oil giant ExxonMobil in a class action lawsuit brought by Indonesian villagers. It was a stunning reversal for the SEC less than two weeks into Gensler's tenure at the helm of the agency.

"In light of the time and attention it will take from me, I have reached the conclusion that I cannot address this development without it becoming an unwelcome distraction to the important work of the division," Oh said in a resignation letter.

Oh walked away from the job as Gensler faced growing concern from progressives on Capitol Hill and in the activism community about his decision to hire a long-time corporate lawyer for one of the government's most powerful posts for overseeing the finance industry.

The episode marked a surprising political backlash from progressives who had cheered Biden's nomination of Gensler, after the former Goldman Sachs partner emerged as a tough banking regulator when he chaired the Commodity Futures Trading Commission during the Obama administration.

Before it was announced last week that she would join the SEC, Oh worked for two decades at the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where she represented Fortune 100 companies facing government investigations, with clients including Bank of America and ExxonMobil.

Oh was part of a legal team defending ExxonMobil in a lawsuit seeking to hold the company liable for murder and torture by the Indonesian military during civil unrest between 1999 and 2001. Villagers said ExxonMobil should face liability because it hired soldiers to guard natural gas facilities in the country.

Following complaints about the conduct of ExxonMobil's lawyers, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth on Monday admonished Oh and others defending the company. The lawyers for the villagers had told the court that ExxonMobil's defense team had characterized them as "agitated, disrespectful and unhinged."

The SEC did not respond to a request for comment about when they were aware of the issues involving Oh and ExxonMobil. Paul Weiss Chairman Brad Karp defended Oh in a statement: “Alex is a person of the utmost integrity and a consummate professional, with a strong ethical code.”

Following Oh's resignation, Gensler announced that SEC lawyer Melissa Hodgman will return to the role of acting director of the agency's enforcement division. She had served in the position before Oh's appointment.

Oh's departure followed a letter that three leading progressive advocacy groups sent to Gensler on Tuesday saying that they were "surprised and disappointed" by his decision to recruit her. They urged him to withdraw her hiring.

Demand Progress, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and the Revolving Door Project took aim in their letter at Oh's years of work at law firm Paul Weiss.

The groups questioned whether Oh "will change her entire legal philosophy toward fully enforcing the very laws and regulations whose enforcement she has built a career of defending against."

"We therefore ask you to immediately reconsider your decision to name Alex Oh for this position, and instead to select an attorney with a proven track record of public-oriented service, of which there is no shortage," they said. Oh spent four years working as a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York before turning to corporate work.

Jeff Hauser, executive director of the Revolving Door Project, said Wednesday that "Gary Gensler and the SEC dodged a bullet in avoiding having a seemingly overzealous defender of ExxonMobil's interests over Indonesian villagers entrusted with the powerful SEC Enforcement Division."

The complaints from leading progressive groups came as some of Gensler's allies on Capitol Hill had also begun to question his decision to hire Oh.

“There's a lot of skepticism that someone who spent two decades helping big corporations dodge the SEC is the person to lead an aggressive revival of SEC enforcement,” said one aide to a progressive Senate Democrat before Oh's resignation. “A lot of people will be closely watching what she does and now watching Gensler more closely, too.”

The concerns expressed about Oh stem in part from long-running disappointment among progressive groups and lawmakers about lax Wall Street enforcement by the SEC, particularly in the wake of the 2008 global financial crisis.

Former SEC Chair Mary Jo White — an Obama nominee who was U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York before going into private practice — faced intense criticism from the left, particularly Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), for not doing enough to challenge the finance industry. Oh worked under White during her time as a federal prosecutor.

To be sure, Gensler has aligned with progressives and Wall Street reformers in recruiting some key staffers. His new policy director is Heather Slavkin Corzo, who previously served as director of capital markets policy at the AFL-CIO.

Before Oh's resignation, some of Gensler's allies urged critics to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Barbara Roper, the Consumer Federation of America's director of investor protection, said she was withholding judgment until she could see how he acts as a regulator.

"Ultimately, I trust Gensler to be tough on Wall Street, so I expect his enforcement director will share that goal, regardless of her background," Roper said before Oh's resignation was announced. "If that proves not to be the case, we won’t be shy about expressing our views."

We did a stress test the other day, and I posted a GME graph (that's what that rule applies to lol) and we still ended green, so I think that rule is dead.
