Yea the BFG's spec's are 32.8" and the Toyo's 33.5", just slightly taller. Mounted on the truck the Toyo's might be slightly taller given they have a stiffer sidewall as well. Will do on the pics still waiting for lug nuts to arrive...

If I ever get aftermarket wheels, it will be Method 701's. I'm interested to see what 255's look like on them.

Did some research but rather ask the pros, so:

    I have 265/75r16 tires (w = 10.4”)
    I want 235/85r16 tires (w = 9.25”)

    Do I need new wheels??

I suppose that that depends on what wheels you have now.

Those wheels are 9" wide, and the 235/85/R16 AT and MT tires I just looked at on DT all were spec'd for 6.0-7.5" wide wheels.

If you're currently rolling on 267/75r16, Those are definitely not the wheels you have. Maybe the same style, but not the exact same wheel. Those are a 20" wheel. They're also 8 lug. The wheel in your picture looks like it has 8 lugs, but I guess that's just the center cap? Tacomas have six lugs.

Assuming that's the right style (MO970), then it looks like you have a 16x8" wheel. I don't see the Tacoma bolt pattern (6x139.7, aka 6x5.5) listed in a 16x7 on Moto Metal's website.

There are probably some identifying markings cast or machined into the wheel that will tell you for sure.

I currently have 265 70 16 toyo AT2 and was wondering if I would be able to run the 255 85 16 in the cooper st maxx without having to cut anything or change any parts I am running the eibach pro lift kit and have a major gap in the wheel wells. Or should I go with a 265 75 16 just want to go with with right option.

I have all of my flaps removed so I don't think I will have to do any trimming just wondering if I have to worry about clearance on the upper control arms or anything

I have 255/80R17's and had minor rubbing on the plastic where the mud flaps attached to the inner fender. Could have solved it with alignment, but I just cut it off.

Edit: I'm at stock height, so you may only rub there at full stuff.

    Oh man…
I ran the 255/85R16’s on a stock OR. Worked great, only rubbed on the mud flap.
