I saw that. Doesn't mean anything, they just multiplied all numbers by like 5 in their head

Sub and amp are finally in.

Doing a little expectation management. The sub doesn't hit as hard as I would have expected given the wattage going to it and previous stereo setups I've had with way less wattage, but I also have to remind myself I'm no longer 18 and don't need car alarm setting off bass. It's very well balanced and with the volume knob I actually end up dialing back the bass for normal listening, but there's that tiny side of me that just wants to go "LOUDNESS!".

Makes me mad that I'm apparently such an easy mark. Will be on guard for future work.

Is that sub box off the shelf or did you fabricate something custom?

Did an oil change. Normally I don't film stuff like this, but I thought why not? Also I made sure to include those grease fittings on the driveshaft that most people forget about

Good vid! I know this will be helpful and a great way to save some coin as well as give the driver an opportunity to do work on the rig.

Oil change is the gateway drug to doing your own work. Nothing on these trucks is hard to do. The process of doing the oil change is the exact same as swapping out a steering pump. Just different bits involved.

Put the money you would give to a shop to acquiring your tool set and you are set to do your own wrenching for years and years at a fraction of the price and the reward of doing it and knowing what was done and how.

It is surprising the amount of rust you have. Must be salted roads. I have a 2016 with 90k miles and no rust at all.

Thanks for the comment brother !!!! You are right, it all starts with oil changes and then takes off from there!! I live in Canada near Toronto, so our mild winters are to blame for the salt. The city uses a ton of salt :( I keep it clean as best I can, and when it was new I even sprayed the frame with that black rubber guard stuff. Tough Canadian winters.......

Installed the Toyota tailgate lock - so nice to have the tailgate now locking with the key remote. Highly recommended mod - our trucks should've come standard with it I believe (or at least standard in the TRD trims).

The process was quite easy, being OEM. The long parts were routing the front wire harness and tying all those zip ties :-D

Check out Impact Coatings in Edmonton. I’ve never personally had anything done there but they did a set of hand railings for my parents house. They came out beautifully.

Finished up making my load bars for the bed so I could relocate my basket. Then promptly put her to work.
