I've used Ahns before but was thinking of going another route. Do you have experience with Envision?

    Not much stock left.
I was thinking of working at least a half day Friday, then heading down. What are your thoughts?

I would have liked to come down to meet you and others, maybe early Saturday... but I'm having rear wheel bearing issues, I think.

I put the axle in from the wrecking yard and it seemed fine, but now there's a pulsating hum at 30 to 40 mph. It's always something...

Doesn’t matter to me. I was probably going to work at least most of Friday. Maybe split out around 2 or so to avoid taking any time.

I can do whatever, but would prefer to leave on Friday versus Saturday.

Who else was going? I haven’t been keeping track.

I figure if I’m out of work by 2 ish that gives me/us 6 hours to make a 3ish hour drive and set up camp before it gets dark.

I can cut out at 2.

Correction: I'll be hunting notional terrorists in Camp Williams' training area so I'll be out before 3.

@Travlr When you say Thistle Creek, could you be a little more specific on some cool areas to check out?
Planning on heading up tomorrow after work for a little weekend trip and was looking on a map and there's quite a few turn offs. I'll be leaving from Lehi if that helps clear anything up.
    Thank you.

Interesting coincidence y’all talking 4Runners. I got rear ended by a full size GMC at 50+ mph on my I-15 commute and Tacoma got totaled.

Missing having a truck already. Had to borrow my father in laws truck to go remove all my armor and other parts insurance wasn’t going to pay me for. Will probably hold out for the new Tundra and buy one second model year 2023.

Missing the Tacoma, I had it all tuned in and dialed with the vF tuner software. For as much as people bag on the 3rd gen, once I got the ECU/TCU all tuned in it was a beast. It had more balls than the T4R I’m driving now. Waiting for the 2021 T4R ECU to get unlocked so I can start tuning it.

Did you ever think about buying the truck back and repairing it? Easy repair on the back from what I see... but it's hard to tell about the damage in the front. A lot of rebuilders like to buy front end damaged vehicles though.

It’s not an easy repair. I got rear ended by a full size GMC with a loaded uhaul trailer. Insurance initially thought that it could be fixed also. Once it got to the collision shop and they started taking it apart they found the damage was way worse. The frame is severely damaged and compressed about 3”, buckled/kinked in multiple locations. Full size spare got pushed into the rear axle then shoved rear axle forward damaging all leaf frame mounts. Bed shoved into the cab on both sides with massive dents. Damage to front end, driver and passenger doors, hood, etc... repair estimated at over $29K. New frame alone is $7k before install. I didn’t get photos but it was interesting how the frame buckled and kinked right up to where my BAMF sliders mounted. Sliders came off in good shape though. Selling to a friend this afternoon.

Curious what insurance would do if your truck was paid off (I assume it wasn't) and had full coverage?

My 2011 has been paid off for years and I have a lot of mods (not covered by insurance). I do have full coverage however. I assume if my rig was totaled, they would give me just current market value? Probably not enough to fully cover the cost of a new vehicle. I also assume I would have to buy back my truck In order to pull the mods off (if they weren't damaged). Or maybe I could pull them off since the insurance was on the vehicle and not the mods?

Just curious what others have experienced.

Good luck with the 4runner. My first car was a 98 4runner with the 5spd manual. Loved that rig.

Really depends what insurance you have. Call and ask is the best policy.

I know some carriers have a policy of "if its 1:1 swaps, we don't care, and bolt-ons like racks and RTTs aren't our concern." So people go swap out their kings for cheap 5100s, etc.

Yeah, I've repaired trucks if it just the back end of the frame rails. Easy-peasy. But if it damaged the front leaf spring mounts, thats a new frame.

It was almost paid off. I have State Farm and full coverage. They don’t really cover mods so I was able to remove many of them. They provide a settlement document that lists what was used to reach the payout. Anything not listed in the evaluation was fair game to take off. Payout was pretty fair for a truck with 95,000 miles.
