Got around to putting a coat of Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Coating spray on my truck this morning. I am really liking this stuff.

    DAMN!

I was thinking about just doing a plasti derp white wheels for Ss and Gs a bit. I do black right now, every 6 months I take the wheels off for one reason or another (rotation, whatever is happening, etc) and will hit them with a new coat and it looks good and clean all the time now. Powder coating is a bit more durable but :notsure: at least in black, mine look good all the time - fixes trail rash and curb rash all the time.

Gave the old girl a nose job thanks to @ACEkraut ’s low profile license plate mount! It was nice to find two holes in my bumper cover under the old mount. The two on the driver’s side didn’t even hit the indent... Oh well, I’m thinking about getting a black bumper cover anyway. This silver one refuses to stay clipped in...:notsure:

Because I spend too much time on this forum, I ordered a set of the EGR ventshades. Took about 15 minutes to install all four. I like the look against both the Cement color and the 35% tint of the rear door windows.

    Very easy to install.

I used to make similar ones that didn't require grill removal and were hidden behind the plate. Sold hundreds of those things. Anything is better than the stock bracket that cut into the front painted bumper.

Installed anytime USB charging port with switch. First switch was defective and had to wait on replacement. Glad I hooked it all up on the workbench before I installed it. Thanks CH4X4 for the great customer service!20210430_170749.jpg

Just got my new bpf recovery points put on. Something tells me this will be the easiest install I will have on the taco.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. We all make mistakes. Let's hope the shop does you right.

I see your a fellow Oregonian :woot: I've had some wheel stuff done over the years with Factory Wheel Outlet in Clackamas and have never had any issues. If in the future you need some touch up, they might be worth a call.

    Cheers.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
It all looks so absurd from a structural standpoint when a piece of hardware made from 1/2 inch or better solid steel is bolted up to a few bits of folded sheet metal roofing... (.060" at most).

    Oh well.... ;-)

I hear ya. But until I have a front-end oopsie on trail, (yep already justified the purchase of a steel front bumper without the cause), the least I can do is give my buddies a safer way to recover me. Bridled recovery of course.

Maybe someone has already done this, but is there any way to reinforce the mounting point?
