I need some advice from some people who know what's out there.

I recently picked up a set of the smoked Amber raptor lights for my pro grill.

I still have the stock OEM fog lights in my 2017 off-road Tacoma.

What sort of options do I have for fog lights to replace my OEM fog lights that are street legal and amber or possibly even smoked Amber?

    Thanks for any suggestions

Can save some dollars with an amber adhesive to cover the stock lens.

SS3's are yellow and won't match the amber raptor lights

Here's the most complete answer to your question:

The LED SAE J583 Fog Pod & Fog Light Review | Tacoma World

Spoiler Alert: The Diode Dynamics SS3's absolutely blow everything else away - and are street legal - and if properly aimed, will not bother oncoming drivers. Mike drop.

Fog lights are not governed by the NHTSA like headlights are, therefore technically anything is legal. Check with your local laws, though.

To quote our resident lighting expert @crashnburn80:

    The importance of beam patterns

What is SAE J583 and why does it matter for fogs?

SAE J583 is the official designation of the fog beam pattern, it specifies a very wide beam with a flat horizontal cut off allowing no light above the cut off horizon. This is critical in a fog application for multiple reasons, the first being the purpose of the fog light is to put the light beam low and wide so that the driver can find the edges of the road at low speed without causing the beam to break the horizon and reflect light back at the driver in rain/fog/snow/dust, which reduces visibility in the conditions that the fog is primarily designed for. The clean cut off also allows this beam to be run in oncoming traffic without blinding oncoming drivers, unlike any other pod beam pattern. All other patterns like wide cornering, spot, flood, driving, diffused ect do not have cut offs to run in oncoming traffic and should be considered for high beam use or off road use only. While each of those other patterns serves a specific purpose, none will illuminate the edges of the roadway without reflecting light back at the driver in rain/fog/snow/dust conditions or be safe to use in oncoming traffic, making them a poor choice for true fog light use.

Crash always makes sense. We're very, very lucky to have him as a member here.

Getting back to fog lights though. The reason an SAE J583 compliant pattern is so important is that a non-compliant pattern runs a serious risk of annoying or blinding oncoming drivers - even when "properly" aimed. With a compliant pattern light, properly aimed, they won't bother anybody.

Based on your post, sounds like this may be your best solution.

If really wanting 'Amber' and not selective yellow (not to be confused with what Baja calls amber which is actually still yellow) then the best option is the KC amber G4s, which are actually amber. See the full review linked at the top of the SAE thread already mentioned here. Although note that the selective yellow offerings by Diode Dynamics are far higher performing than any amber offering.
