I don’t carry daily, mostly cause I don’t own anything I can conceal.

When I’m on the mountain hiking or whatever my pistols in a case in my backpack.

I tend to forget the piece when loading up. Sometimes I regret that.

I can’t deny how lame it’d feel not having that option, if someone else was stirring up crazy, no fault of mine. If it really went down, I’d want options. If I had to act, justifiably so, it’d be one of, if not thee, worst day of my life. Or could’ve it been worse?

I really need to break down and buy something. Utah’s Constitutional Carry now so I don’t have to worry about that (I’m not just some idiot with a gun, so that’s clear).

So many other things to buy in my broke college life haha

Concealed carry.. if you gonna be strapped, carry whatever way you do (arguing this with some people is like arguing the existence of god) take the to train and train. Your life and the others that may be around you depend on it.

Handgun, Bullets and confidence in myself are my insurance..

Compact over sub compact.. or whatever gets you hard.

Training training... repetition to muscle memory..

perfect practice makes perfect.. operation of the handgun should be engrained in muscle memory (principles, fundamentals weapon manipulation).

The only thing I need to focus on is identifying threats and getting sights on..

    Nuff said..

I have a gun on me all the time. CC always. The gun is meant to protect, not draw attention. I live in the city. I don’t want that kind of attention. Just me. My kids don’t even know that I carry. That’s how careful I am with it.

To me open carry falls under the mantra of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should".

    Always concealed pour moi.

Edit: Exception for open carry in bear country.

You make some great points, but please never confuse "Agents" with actual law enforcement street officers.. Please and thanks friend.. Also, did you mean to taze them, cause in 22 years I never licked a suspect in any type of confusion..

Has nothing to do with guns being scary. Has EVERYTHING to do with NOT becoming a target. For the most part, I CCW. If I'm hunting, fishing, scouting or otherwise out in the woods, it's open carry. XDm and a spare mag. Stop for gas or grub on the way home, it stays on my hip. No big deal. But I DO care how other's may perceive OC. So my social skills and politiness get waaaaay ramped up. I want them to remember the guy they saw with the gun on his hip, was the guy that let them go ahead, or paid for their coffee and breakfast biscuit.

I don't open carry to make a point. Cuz those people I mentioned above, they vote.

I sent this to a buddy of mine and we've been discussing it. It's actually cheaper for a few states, N.C. being one of them. I may sign up for the middle plan, not sure yet.

Not a bad choice Shane. Take it from a guy that had to fight a civil case, but won the criminal case. We ended up winning the civil case as well, but not without a significant amount of cash.

Here's a couple of analogies I think are pertinent:

Open Carry - 2wd tacoma lifted, with all the bells and whistles to look like a bad ass rock crawling rig. You're 90% for show at this point and screaming look at me! (this only applies to open carry in urban or populated settings, wilderness is 100% different).

Concealed carry - 4wd with all the goods you need to get out of the majority of situations. Here's the caveat, if you carry concealed all the time it's like carrying your snatch strap and high lift to the mall. You need to really carry when the situations dictate. Would I CC to run to the grocery store 5 minutes from my house? No.

Either way these only work with training and I've met way too many idiots who own guns who are unsafe as shit with them and can't hit the broadside of a barn.

For reference I hunt waterfowl, upland and big game.

We just had 10 people shot and killed at a King Soopers grocery store not far from where I live. I never would have thought before, but I don't go to the grocery store without my CC anymore.
