My temporary boot solution. I’m not a fan of it but it’ll do for now. I ordered another boot off of Amazon in hopes I can mate the two together to look decent.

 

Maybe I can live with this. From the drivers seat it looks fine.

 

Well, drivers side wheel bearing is shot. I'm going to replace it with this.

How much throw does the lil shifter have? Could you crimp on a tarp grommet like ring to the side of the boot, or would it stretch it too far?

 

It has a decent amount of throw. If you’re on IG, go look at my story. It wouldn’t work to secure the boot to the shaft, hence adding another little boot.

 

@EatSleepTacos My shirt came in.....and you were so right regarding how soft thus thing is....

 

Right?! I love it. I’ve even washed it a few times and it shrunk a tiny bit after the first wash but not anymore. Which is good because it was a hair big for being a large.

 

The only thing I would change about it is to put 4LowPro on the back of the shirt.

 

I tried to put #randyfab on the upper back in small letters but it wouldn’t let me put it up high enough to not look weird.

 

I think I might "iron" one on....lol....#randyfab it is then.

 

I ran without any boot for like 5 years and used that area as a trash can

When I dropped the drivetrain to do the clutch I put a slit in the stock boot just like that and it doesn’t look bad, especially compared to no boot. It’s all perspective, as most people would say and I’ll compliment you on the boot, “looks good from my house” ​

 

Hahaha I know what you mean. It really is fine but if I don’t try and tweak it now, I never will.

 

Exactly, you'll move onto another project. I had lost interest in the shift boot, and was happy to just have the stock leather one back. how are you liking the 2lo function. IMO you can damn near swap an FJ case for close to the cost of that 2lo module the fellow is selling on here.

 

I didn’t twin stick it or bother wiring in the ADD. That may change though. I don’t have a front driveshaft in right now so I can have 2lo and it’s pretty fun. Or wait and see if I need to open it again and twin stick it then.

either way, I’m happy with the swap. It is taking some getting used to having a second shift knob in the same area.
