Cole is heartbroken tonight and I am too. He done something he shouldn’t this evening and won’t be going turkey hunting with me in the morning. Our actions have consequences, this parenting stuff is hard.

Might as well share, we've all done it or been with someone that has. Hell, you may teach us a lesson.

I have had to buy my own Tools in very many of my jobs.

i found that most that provided tools bought on price not quality .

Respect, that’s the straw that broke the camels back tonight.

We have two great kids. Listening is their biggest downfall. I was talking to him about doing something and he walked away from me as I was talking. Mom said do you here your dad talking to you? It wound up with a pop and not being able to turkey hunt tomorrow, shoot his new bow, or ride his lawn mower. I said if you feel the need to do something other than play you can practice baseball.

When we put them in bed he was in tears. He looks up to me so much and it breaks my heart for him not to go but he has to learn somehow. We can be friends anytime, I have to be his parent first.

Yes, any hand/power tools. With five millwrights on each shift, it would be stupid expensive for them to keep enough tools on hand for everyone. Especially with our Milwaukee tools since they don't get treated well. Mill environment is hard on them. My 1/2 inch impact has taken a few 15 foot falls, as well as a couple hydraulic baths. Still works thankfully.

    I'll go....
When we (me and my brother) were about Cole's age my dad took us to shoot bb guns...when we got in the car he asked if they were safe...my brother pulled the trigger on his gun and launched a bb around in the car (didn't hit anyone). My dad took my brother's gun and threw it out the window and drove away.
Funny the lessons you remember 40+ years later.
Whatever the case may be, I'll bet you a shiny new nickel that you're doing the right thing.:fistbump:

My dad is 72, we used to be the best of friends. I don’t talk to him much at all anymore. He can change the tone of his voice to me right now and I will straighten up. I have that much respect for him from the way I was brought up. I never got a whippin I didn’t deserve although I missed out on many that I did deserve.

Exactly. My parents were always there for me and disciplined us when we needed it. They brought my brother and I up the best they could. We turned out alright (depending on who you ask). That’s all my wife and I can do for ours, do the best we can.
