Jack recommendation for Tacoma with a 3 inch lift kit

So obviously the stock jack in my Tacoma will not work since I have lifted it 3 inches. What do you guys recommend for a portable jack that doesn’t take up much room in the truck but will lift the truck so you can change tires? Thanks.

 

Stock jack works fine you lift from the axles. They only change height with tires and every 1" of tire is 1/2" of axle lift.

 

It was my understanding you’re supposed to lift the truck from the frame not the axle. I guess I was wrong. Thank you.

 

It takes a lot longer. It really depends, Ive never jacked from the frame as even stock its very high and less stable. You have to jack the frame up and unload the suspension, where as with axles it raises the wheels instantly.

There's also a center jacking point which really speeds things up, its located on a cross member near the oil drain plug.

 

Couple blocks of wood under the Jack works for me…..

 

Jack from the axles...buy a small portable hydraulic jack. They are typically less than 40 bucks

Axles are fine. Most lift from the LCA, the diff or just under the rear ubolts.

cut up some 2x4s

 

May not be an option for you but I use my highlift extreme and jack from the bumpers and sliders if I'm not at home with the big floor jack.
