    This is likely why lol

the 4lo shift schedules for 4-5 and 5-6 are maxed out at 255.999 kph

I think what I'm going to do is take the kph values for the 3-4 table and plug them into 4-5 and raise them by...eh, 50-60%, and then the same process for 5-6

For the record, it's not really intended to be in a vehicle in 4lo in even 3rd or 4th. I've been in those gears only once lol had just finished a vehicle recovery out in the desert on Christmas Eve and there was a snowstorm about to come down on us, was in 4th gear 4lo hauling ass through the sand to beat the leading edge to the road lol

May not be worth changing them at all. It's not like anybody would really ever see those gears.

    anybody
With them being at 255.999 it means they won't up shift until you go that fast.

The thought process was higher wheel speed and still able to use your factory locker.

Only intended for mud and snow

I understand the reason they won't upshift. Did I misunderstand what you guys were discussing though?

As for the locker, yeah I get it but personally I'd try to not use the locker above 2nd or 3rd

I had a first gen with locker anytime mod. Posi burn outs and high speed mud was NEVER an issue. Rock bouncing, I wouldn't advise....

I think Mat got the same “bitching” and it inhibited him from releasing his tunes with the same characteristics as your tunes in the 1-4 shifting. A number of AT drivers appeared to want to drive in higher gears and lower rpm instead of the correct gear and the rpm that results from that.

AJ, I think your work, following on Mat’s, got the ball rolling for more refined tuning and KDMax built on that.

He managed to get into 5th, but 6th was not cooperating, even after adjusting that table. I think it might be buried in this thread somewhere.

I've elected to leave these two tables alone for the time being, just because of the rarity of even needing to ever see those gears.

I never put values in the sixth because I couldn't get fifth to go fast enough. Realistically, 60 is pretty good wheel speed. I'm kind of regretting not getting an aftermarket locker now that I've reggeared. Then I'd have a locker when I want it.

True, but replacing a locker with another isn't as appealing and you can always get the 2LM from @lapoltba

    If he's still doing those.

Exactly why I never shared my tune publicly.

But everyone, including me, is better off for you having been so eager to share and learn.

I'm patiently waiting on the locker anytime mod. Sad it takes a frickin electrical engineer to get it done now a days. 1st gen, I had to ground a gray wire in my 4wd modual.

I believe the 2GT's used the same mod too.

I have never observed my truck shift that way in 3 years of ownership, half of that stock, half of that tuned. To get from 6th to 3rd, it has always needed to briefly visit 5th and 4th.

What is your definition or understanding of a sequential transmission?

the transmission can skip gears, as long as it is within the limits of the output shaft speed and torque / accelerator angle is applied.

Also this blog is old and based on less understanding of the code than we know now. Although it is not really wrong it should be explained better because some situations are dependent upon certain things (ECT button, Cold engine, Hot engine, 4Low, etc)

Based on stock shifting maps, I imagine that the only time it would skip a gear is from 3rd to 1st. In fact, even the 2018 4 cylinder Camry had an ECU update to address holding onto 3rd for too long when you are coming to a stop.
