    Thanks for the quick replies,

I am not too sure which suspension. I do not need top end. The truck is a weekend street truck, 2wd. Maybe Bilstein. I want to stay at 3, 4 inch max since I have the 285’s. I want to avoid any major cutting on the frame.

I have done the exhaust, air cleaner, bull bar on my own. The more detailed bigger things I don’t mess with. No patience and hands start to hurt. (Getting older crap). I’m an auto adjuster in Charlotte 14+ years (don’t hate me) so I know some of the mechanical shop, but none I would go to without recommendation. A meet/greet would be cool. Timing with the family may be a bit tight over summer though.

    Thanks again

You still ain’t fixed the name/pic confusion! I gotta meet the dogs though!

If you want to stay 285, cutting the cab mount and smashing the pinch weld is going to be your best idea! Get adjustable UCAs and I’ll sell ya an BP-51 kit cheap w some HD Dakar leafs! I need to upgrade!

Spindle lift and blocks in the rear. Don’t waste time and effort being only 2wd.

I don't disagree with a spindle lift and blocks if 2wd and no attempts at wheeling. SPC UCAs at most and an alignment shop that knows what to do.

Don’t even need UCA’s with spindles. SPC is garbage anyway :gossip:

Perhaps, as you suggest, they may be garbage compared to multi-thousand dollar setups, but they have taken me through Uwharrie and Gulches many times, AOP and Windrock on some dam good trails, plus countless numbers of FSR roads.

Didnt want to start a UCa spindle war

The 285’s are working fine so far. I went with a -6 offset on the rim. I have not heard any rubbing yet. The tire is very close to the bottom end tip of the flare as it comes in by the cab mount. That is an easy chop if needed.

With the offset it pushed it out far enough away from the cowl it is not an issue. I have not seen any rubbing of the UCA on the spring, and the -6 moved the tire out away from the UCA. The only other spot I see that may need heat and mod is the front of the fender liner in the middle.

Maybe I leave the spacer in and spend the cash on another mod, but have not come across anything I would want just yet. Most stuff is just for appearance.

Nah I mean they are garbage compared to the other <$600 options. If they finally fixed them and yours work that’s awesome, but I’ve been around a while and seen/experienced how many times they have failed and been revised. It sucked having to pull them in under 10k miles.

Maxtrac spindles are your best option if you want to change it, you can keep the factory coilovers and arms, no change in ride. I put a set on for a friend and they were nice. That’s what I would have eventually done if I didn’t convert to 4x4.

I think they fixed them. The first generation are the ones that would fail and crack.

I’ll probably end up with SPC’s on my GX. Need the adjustability to clear 35’s.

I will never buy JBA again though. Can’t even run a 4.5” BS wheel on 33’s without spacers. The “boot” on the ball joint is an absolute joke. I have grease everywhere because of the design and how it lets the grease leak out willy nilly.

Can’t wait to go to Home Depot next weekend with it:)

@zippsub9 will buy your stock spindles if you go with a front spindle lift. That will help offset the cost some...

If you want more of a stock ride do what Andy is saying. It'll give you the look the spindle is better than the stock one and no need for a bunch of extras to fix poor suspension geometry after a lift. That lift can be installed in a couple hours. You'll be plenty happy with it simple to go back to stock and friendly on the wallet.

I keep it in mind. I have the Supreme suspension spacer now up front. I have not looked into spindles yet. Mostly just been looking at the strut/coil over set ups. Some with the spindle.

I though I saw a 3.5 lift which would be perfect, but can’t find it again. I let you know.
