I think only the 2012’s had the DRL on at all times and the 2013-2015 could be toggled on/off. Their definition of “DRL” could mean “on at all times” I guess lol?

Man, I was so stoked to hear Morimoto was making headlights for the 2.5 Gen’s, but there are so many facepalms going on with this whole thing lol

What's up everyone... I'm rarely on this forum but I felt the need to pop in and address some questions/concerns you guys may have regarding these headlights.

Same, I had the exact same set and configuration and it was barely enough still.

No, the LED strip is always on. The DRL switch only turns on your OEM DRL bulb.

So it depends on which option you choose, Amber or White. Whichever one you do choose will always be full time when the vehicle is on.

It does exist, but I think I have the only the set.

On the Morimoto Hybrid headlights specifically, the DRL is ALWAYS on, even when your switch selector is in the OFF position. Clicking it up to the DRL setting turns on your OEM DRL bulb that is plugged into the Morimoto housing and doubles as a turn signal.

Like I said above, I am rarely on here, but if you guys have any additional questions or want more photos/videos I'll be posting them on my Instagram @asap.tac0

If you are interested in pre-ordering them, the Xenon Depot website has the White version available. Feel free to use the code "ASAPTAC0" for a free set of Morimoto T10 bulbs.

Oh and here's another for ya

Yeah, I’m on a waiting list for some retrofits but I thought these looked cool with the amber DRL. Couldn’t find a drop window option for them so I emailed and the shit show ensued.

I will be getting a set, but will absolutely wait for the amber to be available. I’m in no rush

Will be following. I'm quite interested to see how these will look on a black taco. I've been waiting for a high quality aftermarket option for the 2.5's for a long time now.

Anybody else get theirs? The box it came in could hold a small body.

My 2 main issues with these besides potential performance.
    1. Trying to make a 2nd gen look like a 3rd gen.
    2. No Switchback on the C-Light!? WTF Morimoto!? Every other XB headlight has a switchback function, why’d you get lazy on these ones!?

I won’t be getting these since I already have a retrofit. But I think Morimoto really dropped the ball on these. They had so much potential and didn’t take advantage of it.

Judging off the beam pattern shown in the Headlight Revolution video (which I’ve always felt their tests were janky to begin with) it doesn’t look promising. That hotspot is pretty small considering it was at 25’ and the light seems pretty dim throughout the the width of the beam pattern comparatively.

For instance, here’s a cheap Amazon H1 projector with a Morimoto H1 bulb on 35w. Wall is about 60’ away and this was taken on my old iPhone X so take it for what it’s worth. But even this is a much better beam pattern than what is shown on the HR Video.

It’s funny, the Retrofit store said these were a month out and I tried to cancel for the amber version, then one day later they arrived. Strange!

The looks aren’t for everyone but that’s a good thing IMO. I’d hate for us all to have the same lights, suspension, wheels, etc. I think these lights blends the best of both worlds between the 2nd and 3rd gen front end, which is the 2nd gen grill and 3rd gen lights. No comparison with the OE lights in terms of aesthetics.

I agree that not one persons style isn't for everyone, but that's what makes it fun!! It's good to be unique and not give into the mainstream, stay wild. lol

Post up some output shots once you get a chance and your initial thoughts. Also, when comparing to your OE headlights, what bulbs were in them before you swapped? I'm curious how they will compare not only on a wall but driving impressions. As I said before I don't have much faith in Headlight Revolution so maybe you'll have a better evaluation.

It would be hopeful that they would use a projector comparable to the Morimoto MLED 2.0, but logically that wouldn't make sense from a manufacturing standpoint. If it were an MLED 2.0 with an auxiliary high beam projector.....I would possibly look into them and let the style grow on me. I love my RX350's but having a 5 year warranty is great piece of mind. What still bothers me is the lack of a switchback in the DRL. They really dropped the ball on that part. Hopefully there is a Morimoto Rep watching theses threads....cough cough

Did they come smoked? Or is it just your picture lighting.

I currently have 78mm BI-LED retrofits and I have doubt that these XBs are going to improve my overall lighting but if they match my current output I will be happy with that. While my retros have been performing great and have not leaked I just don't see the quality of my build any where near a manufactured unit like these Mori's and the 5 year manufacturer warranty was a big persuader. I may not be installing these because I wanted the amber version... still debating. If I do, I will post'em up.

I have to agree, a switchback DRL would have really been the icing on the cake here. That would have probably increased the cost and for me, these were already at my limit to what I was willing to spend. Mori has $1,665 Tundra lights so I'm sure if they thought the market could/would bare a higher end version they would have done it.

It's just the lighting and angle of the photos to avoid glare. The lense is clear.
