    But sweet setup!!!
It's been years since I pulled it out of the closet.
I'd like to build a setup like yours, unfortunately its going to require another computer. Would love to just walk in, sit down, push a button and play.

Havnt played since? Cant even remember the sim now. pfft. Assetto Corsa.

Anyway, its a one nite deal. I just wanted to see how much of a pain it would be to hook all this up again.

Yes, its painfull. I'm stuck on fw updates.

FW updates are a pain, and hopefully don't break sh*t. I like where mine is right now, so I don't update FW unless I have to.

So. Bad news is the Fanatec wheel is toast.
    Bricked it during firmware install.

Good news is the GT3rs wheel/pedal setup is pretty ancient. And i'm totally ok with using the xbox controller on my tv monitor rather than the 27 in zowie monitor.

I think even I broke some of my records with an xbox controller.
Anyway....Time to build a setup from scratch!

You think Fanatec would repair my wheel after botching the firmware update?
You think they would have to replace some module on the inside?

I really hate to toss it in the garbage.
Im looking at like over $2500 for that new motor/hub/wheel, pedals, e brake, shifter.
Little more than I want to pay atm.

Oh there will be some mods all right
As he said, never hurts to try. Sometimes in situations like this companies will offer deeply discounted products.

Sorry for not replying. Setup my EK water cooling and new case yesterday. Took a lot longer than I remembered to get everything right but I only saw this at like 1 am and by then I was in no shape to reply.

On the CPU front AMD is definitely starting to catch demand. At least once a week Newegg and Bestbuy have 5600X, 5800X, and 5900X chips in stock. Anyone who seriously needs one of those chips at MSRP can find one if they look hard for under seven days.

On the GPU front, things are all over the place. Yesterday I could of grabbed a 3060 that came up on my EVGA account. I put in a backorder on a 3060Ti with a local place and only had to wait two weeks before it arrived. If you're not looking for a 3080 from nVidia you can probably find a card now if you tried. From AMD specifically I've seen lots of 6700XT, 6800, and 6900XT. I even saw 6900XT sitting on the shelf at Memory Express when I picked up the 3060Ti backorder. The elusive card is the 6800XT, and AMD has promised they will have better supply by fall. That being said I don't know where that supply is supposed to come from, from what I understand TSMC has been running at 110% of rated capacity for over a year.

some of this, a little of that
I think my trusty R7000 router is on its last legs, any recommendations for a good replacement? maybe one that offers a little more granular control than netgear allows?

    Yeah.
I like the Ubiquiti stuff and use their consumer Amplifi mesh system, but it isn't super configurable. I started with their edge router and an access point, and it had WAY more configuration than I needed (plus I needed additional access points for coverage and didn't want to do the attic work and fish cables).

I usually say Ubiquiti but with everything going on overseas I find myself pointing to Asus a lot. Yeah they've had their issues, but they seem to be doing better on their updates and their AiMesh works pretty flawlessly, especially if you can use wired backhaul.

Oh and to be clear I didn't mean anything about China lol, I meant that find Ubiquiti components has been hit or miss for me.

Got a question you guys can probably help me with. When loading any game to play my pc restarts before it even fully loads and I'm not sure why. Has been doing it for about a week, but it did work 1 day during that week which is weird. Do you think it's gpu or something else?

    Yeah.
I wish I could use wired backhaul, or that the Amplifi mesh system I use had a dedicated radio for backhaul. But, it seems to perform very well without it. They have a new system that I think does have a dedicated backhaul radio. But, you have to buy the whole router for each mesh point. Not dumping $1200 on wireless at this point since I don't seem to have a bandwidth issue. I moved all the IoT stuff to a separate router already, amazing how the devices start stacking up. I counted 37 the other day.

are you getting any error message blip at the moment of restart?

could be a DLL issue. have you looked into doing a windows repair attempt?
