Very true but it’s not a ton of water going in with the stock hood. I do have some electronics wired up through the firewall and I would hate to see Rainwater just pour into the engine compartment. But then again maybe it doesn’t. The only people that would know other ones you have this carbon hood.

Hey guys, I’m selling my CF hood if anyone is interested. I posted it in the 3rd gen parts for sale section under Tacoma part out.

I too have electronic components through the firewall and haven't experienced any excessive water in the engine bay. You should be good, assuming you pull the trigger and purchase the hood.

I did purchase one so thank you for that information. Of course I don’t have it yet because our friends at showstoppers shipped it with a third rate shipping company and that shipping company lost it. Lol. I cannot believe California is still using Covid as an excuse for everything. It’s just the word we don’t use in Florida hardly ever anymore. Anyway I’m sure it will show up one day. Thanks man.

Outstanding! The hood is a singular centerpiece, the whole truck is arresting!

I like the looks of this hood, don't like the contrasting look of non painted carbon fiber as on the silver Tacomas.

It has no much use for Tacos. Unless you're saving a lot of weight, just don't bother. But you can still buy it for bragging right.

Weight savings, small bit. The look or different one, totally there and depending one's mod plans. I have one and for the price of wanting the look of the scoop look, this made more sense to me then paying for an oem or aftermarket one then getting it painted and stuff.

It adds up. Composite hood saves 15 lb. Optima Red Top saves 20 lb. Aluminum bumper. UHMW fuel tank skid instead of steel. 4Runner jack with extensions instead of a separate off-road jack. Next thing you know your Tacoma is 1000 lb lighter than the one next to you on the trail...

Any updates on those with no hood pins after extended use? Also is the heatshield necessary? If so, any recommendations?
